| ease my nerves!! oh man... i just dropped Kash off for his neuter today. i feel so bad because he's never had to stay at the vet by himself (let alone for several hours!). i dropped him off early so they can do blood work on him and get the results back before the vet actually performs the surgery. i hope the blood work comes back normal, not only for the surgery purposes, but for overall health reasons. i want Kash to be in tip-top shape at all times... anyway, i guess once the results come back (and all is well), the neuter will begin at around 11 am. that's 3 hours from now! when i handed him over to the girl at the desk, i felt my heart drop a little. i never thought i'd feel so strongly about a pet before. Kash is my first puppy... i've only ever had cats, and they are so much more independent that you feel more comfortable that they can handle it better. but Kash is so tiny and vulnerable... i left him there with his blankie and a toy, but i doubt he'll play while he waits. he's probably just scared. any comforting words??? thanks!

| He's so adorable I'm sure the nurses and other staff are making a fuss!!! I have a neutered dog (not a yorkie though!) I felt terrible when I took him for the op. He was so excited to see me when I picked him up you would never have guessed he had just had surgery! Owen recovered really quickly and I'm sure Kash will too! Keep us updated and give him an extra cuddle from me! YORKIE MUM TO BE OF MIKA! 5 DAYS TO GO!!! |

| I had hubby drop Hot Rod off the day of his neuter but I felt just as bad when he went out the door at home. At least I knew that the staff at the vets office were totally in love with Hot Rod and that he would be in really good hands! I know what you mean about cats being independent, I don't remember going through this when they each got spayed (Maybe I was just a whole lot younger and not as sentimental-mental being the operative word). I just want to hold onto Hot Rod because he seems so small and fragile and more dependent than the cats ever were. So I can totally related to what you are going through. Don't worry, he'll be fine. I did, however drive like a nut when I was able to pick him up in the afternoon and all was well! He'll be fine!

Donating YT Addict | I can only imagine what you feel. Ozzy goes in Tuesday and I am torturing myself already about it. I am so worried but my vet treats all my breeders Yorkies so he knows what he's doing...but still..I know he will be fine but you can't help but be a wreck. They are our Babies. Just hang out here on YT all day and we will all keep you company while we send good wishes to Kash

| I am sure he will be just fine, but I do feel your pain. I should have Buddy neutered but it makes me so nervous I have not done it yet.

| I felt the same way when we had Cricket neutered in January! It was awful for me--I've never given him over to anyone before. I felt like I was abandoning him to an alien environment where, from his perspective, strangers would do alien things to him. Cricket is my first dog, too, so it was a huge deal for me. I think this is sort of funny now, but I even took a sick day from work, "just so I could be there in case." Here's the thing though, friend: The dog really didn't care. He was excited when we picked him up, and that night he was basically acting normal. Our only challenge was to keep him from running around like always. My guess is that it's probably bothering you more than it is your fur-kid. So take heart--it's all okay!

| Your baby will be so irrestible, the other pets will be neglected! You know he will demand it!

| holy cow.... this is taking forever!! i just got word that the blood work is good, and the surgery should start in about 30 minutes (12:30 EDT). i'm going crazy with nerves. you know, that really uneasy feeling like you just want to move around constantly? i'm at work so i can't take a walk or anything... anyone know how long the actual surgery takes, so i know about when they'll be calling me to come get him? i'm guessing i'll hear from them around 2 p.m.

| That's great! They told me to pick up Cricket at the same time--it's normal for them to watch him. To be honest, he's probably so out of it right now that he doesn't really care. I had to have an outpatient procedure last year that they knocked me out for, and all I remember is going to sleep and waking up in a wheelchair fully dressed several hours later. I'm sure that the little man is just fine (although maybe wondering what happened to his junk).
