| Friend or Foe?? So Coco has been having a couple of playdates here and there with another YT members dog. The member is Bridgetsmommy. So the first time Coco and Bridget met, they played and had a great time together. The last 2 times we've tried to get them together, Bridget barks at Coco. We can't figure out what it is. Even when Coco acts submissive or just plays on her own, Bridget will bark at her. Coco stays completely silent and just gives the look of "But I just want to play". Tatia (the mom) and I joke that maybe Coco talked some smack.. ..but seriously. Tatia and I like hanging out but her cutie pie doggie just barks at Coco. It's not playful either. For a couple of minutes at a time, they would smell each other and be cool, but out of nowhere Bridget would bark. What can we do???? We're thinking Bridget (rescue) wasn't socialized enough with her previous owner. She's a sweety pie though and we are not giving up!!!

| Just keep trying. By bringing Coco and Bridget together, you're helping her socialize and become friendly with dogs. Just be cautious because you don't want a fight to erupt. Have a blast and post pics!

| We won't stop trying but she already fights with her. I mean it's not your everyday bark. It's coco being silent, and bridget barking and growling in her face. Then Coco thinks it's a game and starts jumping on her, which she really doesn't like. She's a very good girl, but just hasn't been around other dogs I don't think...We are trying to meet every other day until we fix it..haha

| I agree. I would just keep trying. It could just be a dominance thing and Cocoa will settle down and play nice. |

| I agree that you should keep trying also. Unless there is an outright fight, they ususally end up liking each other. |

| Are they always coming to your place? Sometimes bringing one dog onto another dog's "turf" is intimidating. You could try taking them somewhere neutral, like a park or something one day.... |

| We've tried the park, court, last night was at my house, but it's always the same. Coco will even drop her bone infront of Bridget to say like, hey I'm cool lets be friends, but Bridget just gets more fueled. Her poor mom Tatia just gets so stressed when Bridget keeps barking like that. I feel bad but I don't know what else to do other than just keep letting them meet until Bridget stops barking. I'm very proud of Coco though, she just hangs tight and sits quietly, it's kind of sad actually.

| It might be that these two sweetie pies just don't like each other, or that one of them is determined to be "the boss" and feels like she has to PROVE IT. My views might be unpopular, but I have two females who will fight at the drop of a hat. My Chattie is very protective/jealous of me (it is called re-directed aggression). All it takes to send her over the top is for someone (human) to walk up and start talking to me. Since Chattie would never dream of attacking a human, she does the next best thing, she goes after Chizzie. Chizzie doesn't care about being the boss, BUT she does love a good fight (just for the fun of it). I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, we are working on solving our aggression issues (and making GREAT PROGRESS), but we have a long hard road ahead of us. If Bridget is aggressive towards CoCo and CoCo is trying to explain to Bridget that she (Bridget) can be the boss, then play dates between these two might become brawls. If you have never witnessed two yorkies fighting, it is a very scary sight. Make a game plan in case a fight does break out so that you can safely separate them. Breaking up a dog fight, even with tiny Yorkies is dangerous business. Maybe this is a time for Yorkie Moms to have a morning out for a cup of coffee and a good chat. |

| We would hate to give up on them, because there are a few times when they just walk along side each other and then out of the blue Bridget will start barking at Coco again. We also noticed that when she barks, if her mommy or someone makes a loud noise (pennies in a can) or thumping against my balcongy wall..haha..she stops in her tracks and just sits. Coco is just totally confused. She doesn't know what to do around her. She giver Bridget her treats/bones/toys, nothing works. We refuse to give up...any suggestions on how to fix it??

| Yup, exactly. It's the same dog in that video. That was their first day and they had a lot of fun together. No growling, no barking, just running around and playing. We've met up twice since then, last time being last night and the bigger dog (bridget) just doesn't seem to like Coco or her reflection, or trees, kids or birds. But the funny thing is she is totally sweet and will give kisses to die for. So why isn't she being sweet to Coco, when coco tries to kiss or play with her.

| it could be that she is trying to show coco that she is the dominant one. i think that tatia should always correct her when she growls at coco not harshly just firmly. and don't give up continue to make them see eachother i think that bridget will get usto it eventually.

| Tatia is really good about putting her on timeout or just saying NO BARK! or BE NICE. She does a great job but Bridget just continous which stresses Tatia, me and Coco because I don't think she would hurt Coco. But you never know. She gets real close to Coco's ear when Coco is on her back and growls and barks in it.

| Were both dogs on a leash? Stomper loves to be FREE and he would probably bark too if he couldn't be free to play!
