| Allergies? Hi all. I have been very sick with Allergies which have now turned into chronic Asthma. Never in my life have I had either. I went to an allergy/Asthma Center last night for a consult and I scared the doctor. He said I was very sick and should be at the ER. Because I never had asthma I did not realize that what I was experiencing or had been experiencing were asthma attacks. I've been using an abuteral inhaler that my doctor prescribed six months or so ago for bronchitis. I had been using it every 4 hours and still was very bad last night. I ended up with two breathing treatments on an enabulizer. I am really upset because this allergist said that my Yorkies may be triggering it or aggrevating it. I told him they hyper allergetic and he said that he has seen it before and that if your allergies are asthma are bad enough that even hyper allergetic dogs will cause problems. My question is has anyone else had this and what did they do for it? I will Never part with my babies. I would die in a full blown attack before ever rehoming them and quite honestly I am not even convinced that they are playing any part in what I have. Thanks. Elaine |

| It's funny you posted this because I'm having almost the same problem, except mine aren't as bad as yours. I've always had seasonal allergies, but they weren't bad enough for me to bother with medications, etc. I would use Benadryl sometimes which would help alot. It seems that as I get older, my allergies get worse. It also seems that they have been particularly bad since I got Jackson. I normally don't have too many probs in the winter months, but I did this year. I have heard of people being allergic to yorkies, although they are supposed to be hypoallergenic. I don't know for sure that my allergies are worsened by my boys, but like you, I could never rehome them! I will be anxious to see others' replies because I'd like to know too.
