YT Addict | I dont really have an answer. I got Teddy neutered, but he was around 5.5 lbs at the time. Your baby is so little. And if there is any interest you might have in breeding him, then I would put it off for a little while. I know dogs can get neutered when they are older, but if you are still unsure and if its tomorrow, I would hold off. Don't do something you will regret. Jacoby is sooo cute though.

| Wow, that's a tough one. I did have Lucy spayed at just over three pounds with no problems but your little one is tiny. Hopefully others will respond with their experiences...

| I had Lula spayed at exactly 6 months and she was just 3 pounds but also spaying is a more invasive surgery than neutering. I actually discussed the surgery at length with my vet and made sure she had spayed puppies as small as Lula many times before. As long as you have a vet you trust the main thing you need to decide is whether or not you plan on breeding. I was SO nervous the day of Lula's surgery so worrying is 100% normal!! By the way I had a feeling by the name Jacoby you must be from boston!! Are you by any chance a sox fan??

| I am pretty sure that I've decided we will go through with the neuter. I would love to breed him....but I think that some think he is too small to breed. I also don't want him to live with the frustration of always feeling like he needs to find a mate, and I wouldn't want him to get a female pregnant accidentally. I figure if I want another yorkie, I will just have to buy one or hopefully adopt one that is in need of a home!! Thank you to everyone for their advice and input!
