Another puppymill poem by me Is anyone getting tired of reading sad poems? I'm not! I sat down and wrote one of my own again last night because I was still inspired by everyone else's. And with our anti-puppymill attitude going strong, I made one that was more towards the "Stop the Puppymill Industry". Hope you guys like it. The sun cascading off the window sill Revealing the beautiful sun The rolling hills, the breathing trees Another day has begun. I get down from my food bowl And the filthy water that it holds I take a glimpse through my wired cage And reality unfolds. My life has many stories Of birth, abuse and pain Regardless of how my life will end My scars will always remain. Beaten and battered Neglected and unloved, My cough is overbearing My paw is covered in blood. They take our lives for granted We never asked for much The only thing we cry for Is nurture and a caring touch. We all deserve a warm lap And to play with our favorite toy, To be chased around a cozy home By our favorite girl or boy. I once had hope to love But my hope is starting to die. The only prayer I have left Is that the babies I gave birth to will live a better life. My heart is beating slower And I have one final wish.. I know my days are ending, And I am near the Rainbow Bridge. I wish my dreams will ripen And God will make my prayers come true My wish is for you to stop the pain and suffering That dogs like me go through. The sun is falling beneath the horizon, And I begin to hear sighs of sorrow. I close my eyes as another day passes And hope I will not wake up tomorrow.

That one is really sad! I am crying! You are a great poet and I just hope that one day, all puppy mills will be shut down. The stories are so sad and appalling and I just can't stand it anymore.

Natlie, That was a Great Poem.. Very Sad!! I like things like this because it keeps us all remembering the suffering going on in their little lives.. It is also a great way to allow others to know the truth about Puppy Mills.. Thank you for taking the time to write out the hearts desire of these poor lost and lonely pups that by so many have been forgotten.. There was this lady I knew that would take poems and other such writing and attach them to the glass windows in pet stores.. They never stayed up to long but I have no doubt that the people who did read them.. Had second thoughts about buying their pups in Pet Shops.. Thank you again for shariing...

Natalie, you should post that poem on MillBusters.com and ask the admin there to put it up on the website for everyone to see!

Wow, thank you guys for all the kind compliments! I used to spend a lot of time writing poems. A lot of my poems don't rhyme. But, I love to write. So when I get bored I write away and of late, it has been about puppymills.

I can see this beautiful dog in my mind & I can see this baby looking through the cage eagerly waiting for this life to be over. I'm crying now because it sickens me to think that people believe that this is okay. Natalie, what a beautiful tribute to the dog that cannot speak for himself/herself. You should post this on the petition to Oprah to put a story on her show about puppymills. I hope to read more of your work. God Bless, Kim
