| Waking up to Pee So I take Nico's water away at 7 pm, he gets into the crate around ten, having peed two-four times. He always starts to whine around 3:15-4:00 am and needs to be taken outside to pee. He is 7 months old, shouldn't he be able to hold it? Any thoughts would be appreciated. The good news is he peed and pooped outside this morning. He is becoming a real big boy. Tomorrow we start obedience training. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Roxie is nearly 7 months and pad trained and we go to bed around 11 and she gets up during the night to use the pads, but she sleeps with me and uses the ramp to get down and go. All of my dogs are up at 4 since I have an older dog that is trained to go outside and has health issues that necssitates her needing to go out at 4 am. But with a puppy he should start geing able to hold it all night soon,

| I don't think it's unusual. Loki did that until he was about 1 year old. Sometimes they still need to go out at night, but not every night. Some may be able to hold it at 7 months but most are probably not. Take him out for another month or so and see if it improves.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Sue do the jammie walk. I do it right as I know I am ready to get into bed myself and then I turn on the alarm. Frustrating being as you wake up so early every day anyhow. Zoey sends smooches to nico and maddie.

| i think it all just depends on the dog... Kash is only 18 weeks old, and he holds it all night until i wake up to take him out at 6:30 a.m. he sleeps in the bed with me, and i keep a collar with a bell on him, so i know if he jumps off the bed. but he hasn't jumped off the bed yet!

| I think it depends on size too. Mozart (10 yrs old) is over 10 lbs, and he is able to hold it all night or hours during the day. Emmy (14 months) is 4 lbs, and she gets up many night to use her pads. |

| Yea it could have to do with their size. I dont know how bid your baby is. Meeko has slept thro the night since he was 4 months old. lol he's only 5 months now but he's bigger. He's just over 7 lbs. He'll lay down to sleep around 10ish and my bf lets him out at 830 before he leaves for work. Sometimes on the weekends we'll sleep in till 10 and he holds it. I don't take water away from him too. I try to make him pee before we go to bed, if he's already sleeping on the couch. Sometimes he'll pee and other times, whens he's really tired, he'll lay down on the patio and pass rite back out. lol the lil bugger. Oh he sleeps on the bed with us. |

| Mine was able to hold it the whole night and even longer (she likes to stay in bed and cuddle for a bit insead of peeing...LOL) when she was about 4 months and she was about 1.5 lbs at the time. Before that she would wake up at 4 AM to pee. The only time Abby wakes up in the middle of the night is if she has diahhrea. She will whine to wake me up and she will go directly to the wee wee pad. But besides that.. she sleeps the whole nite and then some... She is always provided with water 24/7... Maybe u should take the water away earlier?

| Lucy is a year old and she still wakes us up to go at around 4:00 AM a few times a week. I know when I need to go it doesn't matter what time it is so I figure she is the same way and just get up and let her out. I'm just thankful she wakes us up
