| How do you fix the hair on a male baby? First, I'm a new yorkie mom. Bernie is 14 weeks old. His hair around is eyes is getting long, and I do plan to pull it back. Everyone tells me that he's a boy dog he can't wear a bow in his hair. Will someone in here please tell me what the protocol for a male dog is. It's got to be pulled back with something, I just don't know what to use. Help please, I don't want my baby to be a dorky yorkie! |

| Plenty of boy Yorkies wear bows. There's nothing wrong with it if that's what you like. If I had a boy he'd be wearing a boy bow! Or, you could use a plain rubber band. Either would be fine.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | People told me that too, and at first I kept Joey's hair short, but have you ever seen a dog show. Yorkies male or female are required to wear a bow. I decided to let Joey hair grow, and love it. After I use a latex grooming band I use a bow, barrette or clip. This web site has helpful hints on putting in a topknot and getting puppies use to bows. http://www.thedivadogbowtique.com/howto.php Also, those tiny little clips look good, but make sure you use with a band so that they won't come off.

| Hubby tells me same thing about Hot Rod! I was still putting blue bows and barettes in his hai when it was long. We just got it cut short for the summer. I think that I may leave the body short but grow his face long. Not sure yet.

| Milo's very easy going so he lets me pick out what ever bow I like. I pick out girly bows for him all the time. Everyone teases him but he doesn't care because he knows when he looks all pink and girly mommy loves it. |

My Little Man! Donating Member | Hi and welcome to YT! My boyfriend says he is a boy and no bows will be on his head but I have no problem with bows. Maxi has short bangs because his daddy insisted.

| I keep Jamie in a puppy cut and to keep his hair out of his eyes I put it up in a baby grooming band in a boy color. There's a picture of his hair in the link below. He wears very boyish tshirts so he very rarely ever gets mistaken as a girl. He does have 2 baseball bows that he sometimes wears on the weekends. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...7&d=1204126116

| I put a grooming band and a bow on Parker.....most of his bows have race cars, trains, footballs, soccer, and boyish suff. Just got him and little Harley Davidson bow. Nobody mistakes him for a girl with his boyish bows.

| We are anti bow in this house! They are both kept in puppy cuts as mommy is too lazy to try to manage them long. Also, Otis is black and tons of very thick cottony hair.

| Well I've decided that people say "he" or "she" without even looking at bows or what they are wearing if the are dressed. I brought Kiki into Petco today wearing a pink princess t-shirt, a purple barrette and a purple Puppia harness. Everyone that saw her called her a "HE". So I don't think having a boy's hair up in an elastic really makes a difference in my opinion. Anna www.dogster.com/dogs/511397
