| My Zeus's breeder When I got Zeus, I didn't know anything about puppy mills, etc. I got him from a pet store 5 years ago. (I know better now) But I was hoping that he wasn't from a puppy mill. I just looked up his breeder online and found she has a website and she lists tea-cups, tiny's & toys. Her name is Judith Williamson, from Stamford, NE. http://www.teacupsntoys.com/index.htm Do you guys think this is a puppy mill, or just an irresponsible breeder?

| First, I thought that no reasonable breeder would breed tea cups. I maybe wrong. I am not to sure if it is a puppy mill but I am sure that she is not breeding out of love it seems to me that she is in it for the money. |

| Well as you can see I'm from Nebraska. This woman is located in the southwest part of the state, almost to the Kansas border. Very small town. In my opinion anyone who raises multiple breeds is just that. I certainly can't say. IMO someone who raises one breed of dog and works at improving the breed is what I would call " a breeder". Those that raise multiple breeds of dogs I feel are in it more for the money. I know nothing about this woman. I'm just glad your little man is healthy. |

| every puppy sold in a pet store is from a puppy mill. No doubts about it. No private breeder would need to sell their "stock" this way. Pet stores typically pay about 1/4 of the price they ask for the pets they sell. A $1000.00 puppy would cost the store abotu $250.00. Why would any breeder sell to a puppy store? Only if they are a mill. Also pet stores deal in volume, and no private breeder could produce the amount and variety of pets for a store all by themselves. Puppy mills have several breeds, and have on going contracts with pet stores. Please read all about it on my website, as I got my info right from the U.S. HUMANE SOCIETY. Sue & Cricket |

| thanks guys, i kinda knew it was, but didn't want to believe it. I've learned since then, my new guy is from a local breeder, I went to her house, and saw the parents & all the puppies. She had no problems answering my questions and she even let me bring my Zeus over to see how he would react with the puppy. She made us (mom & I) feel very comfortable about the whole thing.
