Wow. That is insane. A rude comment by a crazy woman. I hope no dog is ever small enough for her because I'm not sure it would be safe. She might not want to feed it just to keep it small!

How stupid!! How about a stuffed animal yorkie for her?

I was in a store once when Mia was less than 6 months old. A guy asked how much she weighed (I think she was around 2 pounds, she is 7 months and 3 pounds currently). He said his grandma had one half her size. What the heck? He must be mistaken!

Bella was no more than 3 pounds at 6 months. I was walking her and this lady told her husband she has never seen such a big yorkie before.

What is she "NUTS"!! KiKi is 7 months and 2.8 lbs and she draws a lot of attention because she IS so little...and people are just awed by how small she is and they always say they have not seen one so small!!

This lady must be thinking of MICE not Yorkies!

sad.......I know a lady said my jeanie was big - she's 6 lbs. Sorry but I don't think she is big either.....nothing big about her. I would be so afraid if she was any smaller....I so wanted a tiny when I got my yorkie, but know that there are so many risks/concerns.......I love them all - small would have been fine. But I wouldn't seek out a super small one today.....for fear of them getting hurt.

Hi all - I rarely get a chance to pop back on this board much but found my way here by way of the link back from Heather's comment to my blog.

I will be the first to admit that I bought into the whole "Tiny Yorkie" trend because as the only female in a house full of males - I wanted something "girlie" just for me! Something special! And special is exactly what I got.

Molly has been the source of so many smiles recently while my family has endured tremendous loss during the Midwest flooding. I love spoiling her. She is up to just under three pounds now and is very healthy.

The same morning I woke up to 3 ft in my finished basement was the same morning Molly was obviously very ill. I drove all day getting her tested and to the best parvo treatment facility in Indiana (according to my vet).

I've bought books and done tons of reading to learn how to properly care for my little Miss Molly and I've realized that Molly is far more important than any amount of money a litter or two could bring in and have made a solid decision to never ever breed her.

It was far too painful to watch her so sick a few weeks ago, I can't fathom what it would be like to lose her because I chose to breed her. That's a personal decision though.

As for people who want them smaller, I'm very glad I have Molly since she is so small - but mostly because I will do whatever it takes to maintain her health. As for people who intentionally breed to get them smaller and smaller - I have no use for them.

So for now I'll just let people think I'm the crazy dog lady and let my ticking biological clock be soothed by dressing up my adorable little girl and let the rest of the world just deal with it or lump it

Thanks for the link Heather and reminding me to check back in this forum. It was a true inspiration to read of the other Yorkies who survived parvo and I do need to visit more often.

Hey, I have a novel idea - since one of the members of this forum popped over to my blog and decided to call me an idiot recently on a post that WAS created when I WAS naive about small Yorkies - why not try teaching people some of the valuable lessons that are on this website? Why not stop breeding these dogs to be 3 lbs and worth $2500 each? My vet is

I'll admit, I was very naive when the post was created in March - but I took the time to learn so I could provide the best possible life for my pup and had MelMel been a little more humane about the whole issue, she would have seen just how far my little friend and I had come.

I'm quite shocked at how mean and spiteful some people are on this forum. I don't think I'll ever understand what it is in the human spirit that makes them so bold online when they're nothing close to so bold in person.

I'll be encouraging potential buyers to come here and research breeders and the breeders "personalities" before ever buying another pup. I do really encourage people to watch what they say and do on the internet, because nothing is private and everything is traceable.

I'll be reading the loads of helpful information to be had on this forum, but I honestly don't think I'll be participating. It's not my style to hang out where so many vicious attacks are being slung about.
