| Buddy met another little Yorkie While walking Sat am we met another little Yorkie walking unleashed down the sidewalk with her owner. I couldn't believe how stinkin adorable she was. Weighing in at 6lbs, the size Bud was at 14wks when I brought him home. I was worried about no leash but he said she never leaves his side and just trots next to him. She saw Buddy and immediately flipped on her back crying with excitement and being submissive. Her name was Honey. Honey was so small next to Buddy. I can't believe she was even 6lbs. He looked abnormal Her coat, I guess, was cottony because it really still looked like a puppy coat but she was 5yrs old. I just can't get over how really small these dogs are. Some of you have 1,2 and 3lb'ers . How do you manage caring for such small pets? After being around Buddy I truly forget how tiny they really are. I can't wait to see her again. Buddy enjoys meeting his own and seems to know they are the same breed even though he's so much bigger. |

| I am glad Buddy got to meet another yorkie! How exciting! Honey is the same size as My Jewels and I know she seems so small in comparison to My Chachi. I used to want a yorkie in the 3 lb range but now I think Jewels size is small enough for me. Shes pretty sturdy even though shes small

| Yes yorkies are really a small breed. Even the larger ones are so small in comparison to other breeds

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Aw glad he met him some honey. Such a cute name. It weird when you see another dog and they are bigger than your pup but the same breed. Zoey is small and I love seeing other sized yorkies.

| That sounds like you and Buddy had fun. They really do seem to know their own breed no matter what their size My two are the same, they just love other yorkies, although Coffee has a liking for Snauzers(sp) as well. I love them too so maybe that's why. My Coffee is BIG, just like your Buddy, and when he meets tiny yorkies, he lies flat on the ground, not on his back though, it's like he wants them to know he will not hurt them. I go to the locol dog shows now and again, so my two are lucky to see "their kind" there. I hope you bump into that baby again. Sheilagh

| LOL I do think of it from time to time but haven't really gotten serious. I think walking two of them in the winter months is what scares me. Snow and ice. If I had a yard I think I would have made that move by now. It's always in my mind though I have to admit. |

| Honey sounds like ...well a honey!!! I'm glad Buddy got to meet her. I think you should get a sister for Buddy too. They'd have so much fun together.

| Its always great to meet other yorkies. We took our yorkies for a walk in Crissy Fields one day and meet 2 very small yorkies, not quite sure what their weight was but they were smaller than Squeekie's 6lbs frame. They were probably 3 lbs and even though they looked healthy, being the worried mother that I am, I "inspected" them to make sure they weren't starving and I couldn't feel the bones in their body! Which is the perfect weight! They were so squishy!! Last edited by wookie; 04-01-2008 at 07:11 AM. |

| Awww I just got Duncan a sister, Piper. Shes 17 weeks now and as big as he is! Hes just a wee 3 lbs, but acts like hes 75 lbs! Getting him a playmate was the v bestest thing I could have done for him. They play all the time and he watches out for her and she beats him up! LOL He loves to be "THE BIG BROTHER" and when she has a toy, he has to have THAT ONE and then he shoves it in her face and growls at her (in play) totally teasing her! Piper and Duncan vote for a sister too!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Aw, what a cute story, sounds like Honey has a crush on Buddy. Joey was only 2 lbs 2 ounces when I got him, and I was a nervous wreck. We have a lot of steps in the house, and gated practically everything off. Even though they are small, they don't seem to have much of a fear factor, and I about died the first time Joey jumped off the back of the couch. We had steps, but they get so excited sometimes. I think once when he was around 4 pounds he didn't seem that small any more, and I could relax a little. So I guess for me 4 pounds is the smallest I could handle. Now at 5 pounds 10 ounces, he seems like a big boy, but sometimes when I look at him, I'll think gosh, he's small. I do love being able to bath him in the kitchen sink instead of the bath tub, I'm getting too old for all that bending.
