| Yorkie...Genius of the Dog World? I use to be a big dog type of guy but my girlfriend convinced me to spend a mortgage payment on a yorkie 2 and half years ago. Besides tricks I was just wondering what your dog does for certain things. For example when my yorkie (Anna Bell) wants to go out she does circles at the door. When she wants food she scratches the bowl. When she wants fresh water she puts her paw in the water bowl. If she can't reach a spot to itch she nibbles on my arm until i hit the right spot. I didn't even teach her anything besides tricks for treats and what not. I was just wondering what things your dog does in certain situations. |

| Wow she sounds very smart. Yorkies are very smart dogs. Mine also scratch at their bowls to get fed, they will put their paws on my legs because they want to get picked up and cuddled. Welcome to YT!

| I agreed Yorkies are very smart. Gucci scratches my legs when she wants to be pick up. When she is playing on my bed with her ball and the ball falls, she looks at me and barks like telling me to give her the ball. When Im getting dress she gets excited and runs back and forth to the front door and back to me cause she knows we are going out, or at least that Im going out. She knows when Im feeling sad and she start licking my legs, and that works everytime. By the way Im glad that your girlfriend conviced you to get a Yorkie. Yorkies are so lovable. |

| i think yorkies are veeerrryyy smart! okay let's see. coco:rings the bell to go out, he knows how to let us know he's mad, he speaks to us, oh yes he speaks to us, if he wants something he tells us. i mean it's just like a baby when you know what their cry means, well same thing with coco's barking i can tell what he wants and needs just from his bark and he knows it.when i say give mommy he puts whatever he has in my hand, when i say speak coco he speaks, when were outside i say "go potty" and he goes, when he needs to pee when were sleeping he either taps my face with his paw or he tries to french kiss me so many things i am just a proud mommy

| Welcome to YT! Kali will show me where she has a tick by scratching my hand and then sort of scratching the place it is. Mare is half cat I think, because of the noises she makes when playing and her brain is the size of a walnut. So she can't do anything, but she wags her tail half the time, so she might not be clever, but she is cute

| Daisy will flip for treats. I keep trying to get a good pic of her doing it, once I do I will post it! She also tells me when she wants her teeth brushed, she knows the cabinet her tooth brush is in, she paws at it and when I open it up she will grab the tooth brush and sit and wait for me to clean her teeth!!!

| Mac & mellie also have different barks for different things. They also know when they are going to get into trouble they come in with that "wait to you see what I did look" followed with the "Look at cute I look look" so you won't yell at me now. I love when I have conversations with yes and they do that head tilting thing.

| I never really taught my Bell to do much, but she taught herself to ring the bell on the door when she needs to go outside?? When she has a itch that she can't reach she rubs her back or head on the furniture. And she always uses a pilllow when she lays down on the couch.
