Driving me NUTS!!!! I have a 5 month male yorkie and we are wintering in Florida in our RV. That means I can't get very far from him and he is very demanding!!! He is really bad at night. He sleeps for a bit, then wakes up and wants to play. He barks at me, takes his toy in his mouth and whines and whines, and I don't really know what to do with him. I have squirted him in the face with water, but that's when he barks at me when I'm at the counter eating or fixing food. That usually works, but this whining at night has got to stop. He just wants to keep me "hopping" and unfortunately there is no place for me to go in the rv as it is small. We are all just "one big happy family". If I shut off all the lights and we go to bed, he's fine and he'll go to bed. But if we are up watching tv, he's at me constantly. Any suggestions??????

| Can you take him for a good walk a couple times a day?? In the Am - and afternoon! Help wear off some of that Puppy energy! Or maybe once a week take him to doggie day care! Or take time each day for "training time" sounds to me like he is bored!- Arn't we all-sometime or another!

That sounded like us last summer when we were camping ! Long walks really do help and if you ever find the magic answer for the barking , please share as my boys are bad and the campgrounds really don't like it ! I think your boy is just looking for your undivided attention and some firm " NO's " may help ( I have one that barks at the counter in the evening because he thinks he needs a treat ( which he doiesn't get if he asks for one ! ) .

I think he is just soooo spoiled. He has my undivided attention all the time. We take him with us most every place we go. Seldom does he get left alone. So now i think that HE thinks that the world revolves around him. We stay up quite late at night and I played with him from 7:00 p.m. last night until 2:00 a.m. That doesn't count all the times that I played with him during the day. He was with me non stop either playing in the yard or going on a walk. I don't know if I should tell him NO that I'm not playing with him, or if he'll just outgrow this. He is just sooo cute that it's hard to leave him alone. I'm always kissing him or something. He's my cutie, OH but what a BRAT at times. Our daughter has two yorkies and she lives with us, so when we get back home in mid April, he'll have two playmates. That will help immensely, but for now I guess it's "tag and I'm it". Thanks for letting me vent:-) Hugs and puppy kisses

They are so easy to spoil but like children , they will always try to go one step farther just to see if they can ! They can be brats for sure but guess we have only ourselves to blame as we are the ones that allow them to get away with what they do . I think you are going to have to start a "time -out " corner for the little guy and let him know that you are the boss NOT him ! Good luck !!!!

Tonight is a better night. He has been with us all day (as usual). Chasing balls, walking, riding the golf cart, walking by the water, etc. As you can see, he's not deprived. He's probably on had an hour nap all day. But when we sat down tonight he started in barking at me. So I gave a few firm NO's and finally resorted to squirting him with water. He finally settled down and is sleeping on the couch beside me. It's quite nice to be able to just relax without him whining, barking and etc. Thanks to all for letting me vent:-) And for your advice.
