| Size Question Hey everyone- so I was just curious if anyone knows how to guess what my baby will weigh. He was 3 lbs at 9 weeks. His daddy was only about 5 lbs- mommy about 7 or 8. I know that he will probably be on the bigger side- which I am totally fine with. Just curious if there is a formula or anything to estimate. Thanks!:-) |

| I've heard that you triple the weight at 8 weeks and double the weight at 12 weeks to give you an estimate of the puppies adult weight. That means your puppy will maybe be around 8lbs. or so? Although, one of my puppies I sold weighed over 3 lbs. at 12 weeks and today only weighs 4 1/2 lbs. so it is just a guess. Glad to hear you will love your puppy no matter what it weighs, that's the most important thing good luck with your new puppy |

| this would put Baxter at 6 lbs. full grown. i hope he at least gets that big. i worry too much about him to have a tiny dog. |

| I think the puppy growth chart is pretty accurate. I also noticed that one of my babies only grew a few ounces after 4 months of age.

| I think that chart is pretty accurate...it said my Pixie would be around 3lbs...and she is just that at nearly 10 months old.

| every puppy is different. the growth chart had dexter being full grown at 3.5 pounds, but he is now 8 months and 4.5 pounds with probably some more growing to happen yet! i was also glad that he grew more than expected...hes still small, but i think when he is full grown (likely at least 5+ pounds) i wont have to worry about him as much as if he was 3lbs |

| Thanks:-) Thanks everyone- so I just got back from the vet and little Deegan is 3.5 lbs:-) So he only gained .5 lb in three weeks- is this normal? He eats well and seems healthy- just curious if this was normal because he seems like he has gotten bigger in size- but just not in weight. |
