| grooming Hi guys. I have a question. Do you let your yorkie's hair on the bridge of his nose grow? or do you "shave" it? Last time I took him to the groomer, they shaved that part, and I didn' t like it. Now it's growing and it makes him look messy Just want your opinions if you usually let it get long there? Thanks |

| I don't shave it. I usually keep it pretty short for a Yorkie but not that short.

| I started cutting it or shaving it on two of my yorkies because they get eye buggers too bad and it keeps from getting too bad but the rest I don't |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I keep Joey's cut short. I don't know if you are aware of it, but there is a grooming section that has all sorts of tips on grooming. You might want to check it out. https://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yorkie-grooming-talk/ I was here for quite a while before I realized that there were many different forums on YorkieTalk.

| They SHAVED it?!?!?! oooh, I get so furiated when owners bring their dogs in and tell me about other groomers doing that. You can TRIM the hair right around their eyes, but there is NO reason what-so-ever to shave the bridge of their nose! Grrrr lol Sorry, bug grooming pet peeve of mine!

| I HATE when groomers shave the bridge of the nose...it's one thing to trim the hair in between and above the eyes if the owner wants it done..but to shave the whole nose?? I don't trim the hair at all there

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The YTCA has some instruction on grooming. http://ytca.org/grooming_clips5.html I'm trying to let it grow, but there is a place that's not the mustache and not the topknot, and it hard to know what to do with it.

| I shave Zoey's I like it that way but just on top, then on the sides at the very end so it doesn't get in her food. I am not home right now but will post pics tonight.

| When we got Tucker his original owners had shaved the bridge of his nose and I'm now desperately trying to grow it out so he looks more like Lexie. They're both beautiful, but I'm not fond of the shaved nose.

Donating YT Addict | I use tiny clippers and trim the hair on the bridge of the nose just near the corner of the eyes so they don't poke him in the eye. I don't shave the whole bridge. (but I also plan on keeping him in a puppy cut so I'm not to worried about the short hair...)
