| I need help hey guys I think my lil girl has allergies. I notice she sneezes alot n sumtimes her eyes seem a lil red. She also tends to bring her paw towards either her face or back of her ears n scratch. N then she also tends to sometimes bite or nibble on her hind legs or thighs (the area between her tummy n actual leg). The vet just did bloodwork on her n said all was fine. Do they pick that up on reg bloodwork or do they have to take more blood out for that or do I go to a specialist? Thanx in advance..... |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My Cali scratches all the time so I had the allergy testing done on her and it is different then the regular blood work. I think it was between 200-300 dollars. It didn't identify anything she was allergic to and she still scratches all the time. What arew you feeding her? Could it be dry skin?

| ok well she is soooo picky. she doesnt like any kind of dog food!!! not even boiled chicken or rice!!! I have to force her to eat the nutri-cal!!! She literally wasnt eating so i was told to try gerber chicken. She eats that!!!! I dont really think that would have anything bad in it. Also, she is takin antibiotics cuz the doctor did some work on her to make sure everything was ok since she wasn't eating n it might have been parasites. It all turned out fine, but he said to give her the antibiotics anyway for 7 days. Could it be that? |

| It really sounds like you should ask to see a specialist or try another vet. Not saying that your vet is bad, but maybe another would have a different idea of what it could be. Good luck though!

| could be a food allergy. What are you feeding her? Avoid foods with a lot of corn or wheat as the first few ingredients on the bag. Also what shampoo are you using? Be sure to rinse very well, and AVOID creme rinse as it all has a wax base and clogs the pores, causing skin problems to some dogs who are sensitive. I hope this helps. Sue & Cricket |
