| I was wondering the same thing. Mine is 6 1/2 mos. A couple of people have said to me that he really didn't need the puppy food as much now because his nutritional needs have changed by now. I am going to wait for the vet to tell me that it is okay before completely taking him off puppy formulas though.

| I think once they turn a year old, they are considered an adult.. That's also when most people switch from puppy to adult food..

| It is around 1 year. You can start mixing your adult food with the puppy food at 11 months old. I just kept feeding a little bit of puppy gradually adding less and less until I ran out.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | May I ask why you're asking this? Is it a food question, a breeding question, a growth question, or something else? My answer would be about 1-½ years, but I switched to adult food at 9 months. My vet said they are a "teenager" at one year. Your food manufacture will have recommendations on switching from puppy food to adult. Yorkies can switch to adult food sooner than the larger breeds. Most yorkies are full grown at one year, but I've read of many who have continued to grow up to 1-½ years. If it's a breeding question, I don't know nothin about birthin yorkies!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Lol, personally, I would love to see a 50lb Yorkie, I think it would be gorgeous, but I wouldn't want to do it's hair, that would be a lot of upkeep! Here's a growth chart, it's just estimation and is listed in ounces. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/growth_chart.doc They do have growth spurts, so you never know. How big were his folks?
