how much socialization???? I am hearing a lot about socialization with other dogs...... other humans...... and i have to say that i am really selfish when it comes to my baby! I take him to grandmas house once a week (starting in february it will be twice a week) and he gets to socialize with other dogs there (she has three), do you think that is enough socialization with his own kind so that he isnt consider alouf or stuck up??? During christmas there was another dogs for him to interact with but she was VERY aggresive, and i was afraid to let him on the floor (this dog kept growling at him, and this dog even went so far as to almost attack my brother!!!!) ...... i know my moms dogs wont hurt toby, but, small dogs are hard to socialize with in this area (my friend breeds yorkies and has a pup about toby's age, and i occasionally watch her so eventually toby will meet up with her......) i dunno, is socializing with my moms dogs enough??? because i just cant trust all those other dogs that just happen to be around, when we just WALK BY a big dog i pick toby up off the ground...... so what do you think? will he end up as one of those dogs that thinks hes human and afraid of dogs because i am only socializing him once or twice a week?

Is there a Three Dog Bakery anywhere near you? They have "Yappy Hour" once a week for dogs 7 lb or less - play time! We have yet to make it, but I know several people who do. Also Petsmart and Petco have free "Puppy Playtimes" - mine has for small breeds separate from large, but some do not.

Hi, My Dusty is 11 months old now. When she was about 5 months I took her to a small dog class at Petsmart. She really loved playing with the other dogs. They were just her size. Dusty is very friendly and has never seen another dog or person that she doesnt want to know.

What type of dogs does your mom have? If they are all big does then you might want to try and arrange some small dog play time for Toby. Yorkies can't really play with big dogs the way they would want to. They have to be cautious in order to not get hurt. When they play with other dogs their size it is really funny. They will wrestle, tumble around, etc. I would suggest getting Toby some of this play time as well. Bentley attends a play group once a week where all of the dogs must be under 15 pounds. He really loves it. You might try to find something like this in your area.
