| when did ur baby start losing their colour? Hey My Tia is only 9 weeks old but her grey hair on the top of her head is starting to come through. Is this normal; I was starting to think that maybe I was stressing her out lol When did your babies start to lose their original colour? Anyone have a baby who still has the black and tan colouring (full grown) I saw a beautiful yorkie like this somewhere on the internet; she was sooo gorgeous; I wouldn't mind if Tia stayed black and tan; but I think she is gonna be all grey

| i was just going to ask about this. my pebbles is 14 weeks and is JUST starting to change hair colors a little bit. it is growing out a light golden tan color on top of her head where it is black, but you can barely see it. her back is not changing color though. it is still black! and it is getting long! I am wondering if her back will stay black.. i see other puppies at her age and they are well on their way to changing colors at her age |

| Sebastian started to go grey on his head at around 4-5 months old. His back is still black, though it does have a few stray grey hairs in it. He's 9 months old now. How long does it usually take for their colors to fully change?

| Holly's head had already started to change when I got her at 12 weeks. The rest of her is jet black at 6 months. Gracie started to change color all over by 4-6 months.

| Slade's a mix, but he started to change his color around 10-12 wks. When I got him at 6 wks he was the most beautiful black and brown color. Now he is dull silver and black.

| It's normal to see grey coming through on a Yorkie's head at about 6 to 8 weeks. You may also see some grey breaking on their back if you look close to the skin. The grey on the head should start to change to more of a golden color at around 9 months, but this may vary. The hair on the back will show more grey (silver) coming through but the amount of this will vary depending on the dog's ultimate color. Some go completely silver on their back, others will remain black, but the standard is for a dark steel blue color. Most Yorkies tend to lighten up on their backs until about 3 years of age. |

| i got Kash at 9 weeks old, and he already had the grey color coming in on his head... i thought he was balding!! lol. but after close examination, i realized his hair is just grey closer to the scalp and black at the ends... he's almost 15 weeks now, and i think some of his hair on his body is turning grey as well because it's lighter toward the skin.

| My first, Brutus, stayed black and tan for his entire 12 years. We kept him in a puppy cut and he was our perpetual puppy. Maxwell, bless his heart, started turning by 12 months. |

| Roxi is 81/2 months old and still black & tan just like the pix.. Everyone that has Yorkies in my neighborhood say she is probably gonna stay this way if she hasn't changed yet but I have read until they reach two years old that can always change... Not even her head has gone grey or silver at all..But I hope she stays black & tan cause I love it!! But even if all her hair fell out I would love her just the same!!!
