| Help Needed Please.... I Just Got My New Baby Girl Wednesday. Well She Is 3 1/2 Months Old And Only Had One Shot. So On My Way Home From The Breeder I Stopped By My Vet And Had Her Checked And Shots Given. Well That Day She Started Sounding Hackey. Like She Was Trying To Get Something Out Of Her Throat. Didnt Think Much Of It Cause She Had A Three Hour Drive Home And Thought It Was Stress. Well She Is Still Doing It And More Often. Expecially When She Is Playing With The Other Dogs. She Will Even Do It When She Isnt Playing. I Am Sooo Worried. At First I Thought Collapsed Tracia, But I Have Been Reading About Kennel Cough. And That Sounds Like It??? Have You Had This Before Or Heard Of It? She Has A Appt With The Vet Today At 4:45. I Am Sooo Worried About Her. Other Than The Cough She Is Active, Eating, Sleeping, Pooping Regular. If You Have Any Input It Would Be Appreciated. Thank You , Renae

| I Do Have A Appt. Today At 4:45, But Was Looking For Some Info. I Dont Know If The Kennel Cough Vaccine Was Given? It Was Her Second Set Of Shots. Should I Call The Vet And See If He Gave Her Kennel Cough Vac? Could She Get Kennel Cough From The Vaccine? I Am Praying Its Not Collapsed Tracia.

| It sounds like it could be reverse sneezing..my oldest yorkie(5) does that quite often, and the little 7 mo old has also started doing it occasionally...it usually happens when they get excited, and they look really scared when doing it..if that's what it is, you need to block the nose so they will breathe out of their mouth |

| Kennel Cough It sounds like Kennel Cough But don't panic - given the proper treatment she will or should be fine in a week to 10 days - the stress of moving may have brought it on and since you say she only has had one set of shots , she certainly hasn't had her bordatella vaccine yet . Take her to vet and let us hear what happens . I will keep her in my prayers for a quick recovery and if she is still playing and eating i would be concerned but definitely not into a panic mode. Let us know when you get home what the vet says.

| It could but usually if this happens after the KC vaccine, it is just a mild reaction and happens to a lot of dogs. It is probably KC. Whether it is from the vaccine or not...who know.

| Duffy gets the cough (hacking, reverse sneezing, etc.) every time he gets the vaccine for kennel cough (every 6 months). He used to get the inhaled one. The first time he got it it he ended up with a respritory infection. My vet said to be sure he gets the injectable ones from now on because they don't ususally react to them. The other doctor in my vet's office said that unless he is face to face with strange dogs (i.e. dog park or kennel) I may not want to give him that shot. Good luck.

| WELL WE ARE BACK FROM THE VETS. HE SAID PROBABLY KENNEL COUGH. HE DID NOT GET THE SHOT SO HE DOESNT KNOW WHERE SHE GOT IT FROM. HE SAID SHE HAD TO OF HAD IT WHEN I GOT HER CAUSE IT TAKES ABOUT A WEEK TO INCUBATE. SO WE ARE TREATING KENNEL COUGH. HE SAID IF IT ISNT GONE IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS THEN WE NEED TO SEE WHAT ELSE IT COULD BE. SO A LITTLE LESS WORRIED. I WAS JUST HOPING IT WASNT COLLAPLSED TRACIA. HE SAID THERE IS A SLIM CHANCE OF THAT IF THIS DOESNT CLEAR UP IN A FEW WEEKS. SO KEEP SAMMY IN YOUR PRAYERS. HE SAID TUCKER WOULD PROBABLY GET IT TOO IF IT IS KENNEL COUGH. SO I WILL BE WATCHING OUT FOR HIM TO GET SICK NEXT. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOU THOUGHTS AND KEEPING US IN YOUR PRAYERS. RENAE, TUCKER, AND SAMMY
