| Bully Sticks I havent been on for a long time and as i was reading a thread about healthy snacks i read something about a controversy about BULLY STICKS!!! My Ollie is addicted to bully sticks and i need to know if they are not good for him!!! I have never given him raw hides cause i heard they dont digest them and can turn hard. But i thought bully sticks were safe and digestable---help? What are other safe chews??? |

| This is a thread telling what happened to Bella..... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=121115 Apparently since the Bully stick is an animal product it gets bacteria on it when it gets wet from their saliva and it can be very dangerous.....

| OMG! I just read PAula's [Diggy4] thread about what happenned to Bella. Poor thing. Thankfully they're both Alright now! I've given Daisy Bully stick a few times and stopped because of that horrible mess it made [complete with stains --as most of the couches are "light colored" in the house.] No thanks! lol

Nylabones are just that, nylon. I don't give chews because they just aren't safe.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | HI Mary, Im Paula...Bella and Diggy's mom! PLEASE dont do the bully stix....I did for 2 years...mine were SO addicted and absolutely loved them. I am a very protective mommy...I feed no commercial treats, I home cook, they sleep in bed with me, they are my WORLD!!! I have taken every measure (so I thought) to protect them...and a simple Bully stick almost took Bellas life. Im not over it yet nor is she....Both Bella and Diggy got the bacteria but it hit Bella much worse...you just never know. They are both still on a strict prescription diet, meds, washing toys constantly, poop is FINALLY getting back to normal but whoa....what a week. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me I have researched my butt off and asked the vet a million and one questions along with help of YT'ers I finally think i understand it all. So yes thank GAWD you came on and read this. Trust me you DO NOT want to go thru what i have...lesson learned and Ihope to educate others so they NEVER go thru this. Paula

| I was floored when I read your story, I had been buying these things for a couple of months and my boys loved them....after I saw what happened to Diggy and Bella I got up from my chair and went and found 4 of them laying around and I threw them out...Your story probably has saved someone else from the same ordeal....Thanks for posting that
