| Is it okay to bath him? I completely forgot to call my vet today! Tucker was neutered on Monday. I meant to call the vet to see if it was okay to bath him yet. The office will be closed this weekend and I would really like to bath him before Monday, but I don't know if it's okay yet. What do you guys think? |

| Depends on the type of stitches. If you got the 'glue' kind you have to wait 10 days. If you got regular stitches I think you have to wait until the stitches are removed. Samson had his surgury last Friday and vet said no baths for 10 days.

| Thanks guys. The vet said they are the dissolvable kind. Is that the same as the glue kind? |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | No, the stitches just dissolve instead of needing to be removed. The vet told me to wait 2 weeks with the dissolvable stitches. It's good time for clothes!!

| Oh No! He's going to be sooo stinky!! It had been four days since a bath when I took him in!! I figured he would get all dirty during the surgery so why bother. I didn't even think about having to wait!! Yep, I guess you're right, it's a very good time for clothes, and maybe some doggy cologne! |

| go to your pet store and get dry shampoo....that is what the vet told my daughters friend about her chihuahua.....im a surgical tech...the glue needs to be kept dry for 7-10 days according to how long the incision is....if stitches then either untill they are removed or until the scabs have fallen off....(or licked off)...but usually 7-10 days.........you can use baby wipes around his gentiles....also you could use wash cloth and (believe it or not) women's hygiene wash....just make sure not to get it in the incision........good luck......
