| Does your Yorkie call for help This morning I was having my coffee, as usual, on the living room floor playing with Buddy. He went into the kitchen and I hear him barking quietly under his breath. He does it again and I know he needs my assistance in something. I get up go into the kitchen and he's trying to retrieve a ball that is buried under his toys. How smart are they to ask for help when they need it? Pretty smart these Yorkies are. Does your Yorkie ask for help at times? |

| YES! YES! YES! Tino will also come over to you and "paw" on your leg and make a noise like "grumphf" until you follow him to help him out with what he needs...usually he wants you to get him a chew treat from the closet!!! Little Smarty-pants!

| Yes, all of the time. When Lillie cannot get her ball she whines for my help and then if Gracie takes something of hers and she wants it back, she will ask for my help getting it back.

| Koda is so independant. If he is trying to get something from, say, under the couch and you help him get it then he will just walk away! He thinks he is so macho that he just doesn't need mommy's help. The only time he does want my help is to get out of his crate but these days he is even doing that on his own. lol |

| yes..This morning, like every morning, I was getting ready to let my dogs out. Usually, all three are already at the door hopping and barking, happy to be going outside. As I opened the door, Desi and Millie run out but Ricky (who is normally the first one out ) stood by my side softly crying... I bent down and scooped him up and asked..whats the matter with my baby... I quickly learned that he had a big piece of pooh stuck on the hair of his behind. After cleaning him and me.. out he went happy as a clam.

| Yep!! Coffee has just asked for help. We are having a thunder storm at the moment and I went to close the kitchen door as the rain was coming in... next thing Coffee is barking his "big Boy" bark and running around me. Low and behold there was CoCo out in the rain! He was asking for help to let his sister in. she is furious with me Love, love them. Sheilagh

| Mine bark at the water bowl. If I'm upstairs and I know what they want, I just fill the upstairs bowl. Not good enough. They go back downstairs and want to drink from THAT bowl. But yes, in general they will bark at us or paw at us or whatever until they get what they want.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Ramsey tells me alot of things... If Reese is in her crate....she tattles. If Reese has taken something away from her...she tattles. If Reese is doing something he shouldn't...on top the kitchen table, in the trash...she tattles. And I mean....she comes to me...whining, barking little yips, finally pawing my legs if I don't immediately respond to the whine and barks. Reese says...she's just a tattletail. She is also the doorman...kitty wants in, momma...

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yes, Joey does the same thing. I feel so smart recognizing his different barks. There's a bark for something's under the couch. It's not too loud, but it's enthusiastic. The bark for seeing someone in the park outside our window, it's loud. The bark for seeing a dog in the park outside our window is very loud and confronting with a little frustration thrown in as well. The bark for another dog is near my food is different again, it kind of a mixture of the other three barks and definitely gets your attention. I couldn't believe it the first time I heard all this noise coming from this little dog.
