Cry macy's first grooming

Well i took macy to get groomed and of course i got her the works. Well I had a bad feeling about the girl that was going to groom her, she looked like she was having a bad day. Anyway i went ahead and told her i want a puppy cut, she asked me how much i wanted off and i told her maybe an inch. Well she must have not known what an inch was cause now macy has really really short coat . She looks so sad. her coat looks so choppy and i mean it so short she looks like a chi with hair. Oh well now i know to listen to my instincts. I hope her coat grows quickly. She doesnt even look like a yorkie now

If it is that bad, I'd take her back and show what you are not happy with and ask for a refund. The good thing is that their hair usually does grow pretty fast. I really did a bad, BAD job on my Westie. I do much better with my Yorkie and I even groom the little puppies. I know what it is like to love your pet and feel so ashamed for them (not that you said that you are, I know I am ashamed of what I did to Hunter). It WILL grow back and you'll already be more used to it in a couple of days.

I like my Rika nice and short, it gives me a break from combing her for a bit. Plus, it means less haircuts in general. Rika only goes for a haircut maybe every 4-5 months. I cut it short then let it grow until I'm sick of it again. I think it's cute both ways, and remember, it's just hair and it grows back.

I'm not trying to stick up for the bad grooming, that's never acceptable. I'm just trying to make you feel a little better.

Default "Puppy cuts"

Today Schatzie also went to the groomer for a major hair cut change and I too asked for the "puppy cut". My groomer advised that so many clients expect different expectations on a puppy cut and so we sat awhile and talked about what I expected Schatzie to look like.

We agreed on a 2 inch cut and not to shave her nose hair short. She has cute bangs now (wow, I can see her eyes ) and the hair on top of her head is still long enough for girly bows.

She no longer looks stringy and her face has been cut to look more round and even. She looks adorable.

I am so thankful that my groomer took the time to explain to me that the "puppy cut" can mean differant things to many people.

Don't worry about Macy, her hair will grow and next time you will know more of what your expectations are when you advise the groomer how you'd like to see Macy's hair.

Oh damn I know the feeling...Tyson and I went through it as well. His hair has grown back but it took almost 2 months. Did you tell her about it? Maybe you should just do it yourself I just take him to get his nails cut and that is all.

Can you please post a picture or send me one? We aren't ready for a cut yet but I have heard that the "puppy" cut really varies. I need photos to take with me when that time comes.

thank you

I am sorry. It will grow back quickly though. We had our dogs groomed recently and their hair is already growing back.

I think next time ill take a picture of what i expect. It was my first time going to the groomers with macy so im chalking it up to a learning exp. She still looks cute but i guess im so used to her with more hair. I ahve seen them groom yorkies before cause thats where i take my shepherd on a reg basis, so I assumed it would be okay. Now i know to ask questions and let them know what i am looking for. On the otherhand though my daughter loves macy's new look. lol In fact she yelled at my husband for laughing and made him apologize to macy.

Here are two that I just took. I forgot to get a full length body pic/side view but will do so later today as she just laid down to take a nap. I think what I enjoy or like most about this cut is the fact now she has short bangs so even when she has no top knot bow in her hair is out of her eyes.

Another is that her skirt and over all hair is now about 2 inches and isn't looking so stringy and brushing is a breeze now.

When she was a young pup her nose hair was shaved and I thought she looked like a fox since she has more of the "longer nose" rather than the "baby doll" face so many people describe. So, today that was one of my major requests is to NOT shave her nose as I like the hair being long enough to lay down flat. Had the nose hair been shaved as it grows it pokes them in the eyes and well, OUCH!

Not to worry. Yorkie's hair grows very fast in the summer.

Oh NO! At least you know not to go there again. It is so hard to find a good groomer...that's why I do my own. The hair will grow out, it will just take some time.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. This happened to me, only Chloe looked like a chi without any hair, I could see her pink skin. I cried and cried, my cute little furbaby was a mess. It took 4 groomers and a picture until I found one that did it right. I actually think they are scared to do it wrong, I was so forceful that they do nothing different unless they talk to me personally. And, they call me immediately when the girls are through so they do not have to stay in a pen for long. I tip them sooo well, I hope they never quit because I do not want to go through that again. It will grow back but like I told the 4 I fired, once it is cut off, you can't glue it back on, err on the side of leaving more hair.

I did a puppy cut once with Baxter. His body was basically shaved. She left his face longer. Looked WAAAY off-not symetrical at all. It was terrible. Never went there again.

I love my new groomer. I drive 20 miles to get the puppy dogs hair cut. It's well worth it!
