YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Well, I can tell you this, Yorkies were orginally bred for hunting rodents in the mines, so with ferrets being rodents I would say to watch out! I don't have any experience having ferrets, just a heads up.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | I have lots of experiance with this..... I had 2 ferrets Murphy and Willis... AWESOME PETS! They rate right up there with yorkies to me. I had the ferrets almost 4 years b4 getting Bella...she LOVED them and they loved her. My ferrets were very social and used to animals tho...I took them everywhere they had a lil carrier and met many people and creatures. I will say this...In a fight between yorkie and Ferret my money is on the ferret....so be careful....they play rough they have very thick skin so they tend to bite back twice as hard as being bit. They do not have a "killer instinct" so to speak but they can fight and you will see this when they fight with each other they scream hiss and carry on just like dogs. When they fight they remind me more of a Cat than a dog. Bella and Willis were closest I would say and she sat on him and loved him like no other. thats her sitting on him in the pics...her favorite thing to do The lighter one is Murphy...he is the trouble maker... If you have any questions please feel free to ask away...I did lots of research on ferrets and would be glad to share what i have learned! paula. Oh mine had free roam of the house slept in a 4 level cage only at night. they enjoys walks (with harness of course) playing outside and snuggling VERY MUCH! When you come in the door they will kiss your face like crazy just like a Yorkie!!!

| I sooo want a ferret! My yorkies are the only reason I haven't yet.. I was afraid of what the flip side could be.. Yours look soo happy! Do they have the typical musky ferret smell? I may have to wait til I get my own place..

well mine were descented and neutered. All should be that way Yes they do have a musky smell....they are nesters...LOTS of blankets and beds needed!! so i washed bedding like every 2-3 days and they tend to like water so and inch of water in the tub meant PLAY TIME to them and a lil baby shampoo in the water your all set! Mine did not smell but it is A LOT of upkeep and they need a lot of attention! they are clean animals and groomed each other a lot but still there is a musky smell no way around it but with proper upkeep that can be very minimal.

| Thanks for the replies - I will post pics of the ferrets hopefully later today - they are sooooooooooo cute. We had one before- but these two together -way too much fun to watch - we actually separated them for a bit yesterday - but they seem to thrive on wrestling - I love it. I'll keep you posted. |

| I don't mind the musky smell but my bf might.. lol I saw one before that was like your darker one but with white paws! He was soo soo cute! What kind of cage do you have? My belief is to always buy as big as you can afford... I was going to get a ferret for Xmas and I was going to buy the Ferret Nation.. I loovvee that cage!! Is it better to have pairs?

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Gosh I cannot remember the name of the cage i had. I know it was 4 sotries....LOTS of tubes....and 4 beds lol spoiled!! They spent very limited time in the cage. They love to run and bounce too much!!! Wait til ya see them arch that back and run/bounce sideways!!! HILARIOUS!! Willis the darker one would stand in one spot and literally just bounce on all fours...we'd sit and watching his silly butt for hours! Murphy was my vocal one he made lots of sounds and koo's
