| Instant family! I hope a knowledgeable member will have some suggestion about the not eating-drinking problem. Not good, IMO. Wonder if she can make it until tomorrow?

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Well, first of all, congratulations on your new little family! The girls are very pretty; I especially like the little 3 lb'r. The other, so far as her submissiveness goes, she might just take a little longer and a litte more lovin' to feel comfortable in her new household. Maybe she had something happen that made her that made her that way and when she feels more comfortable in your home and with you, she'll come around. As for not eating, that could be due to being in a new enviroment also. Don't force her to drink, but have water available at all times. You might want to try feeding her some boiled chicken cut up. When ever mine are not feeling well or being finicky for any reason, they always seem to go for chicken no matter what. You may also want to try giving her some Nutri-Cal. I hope that you will take them all in for a wellness check from the vet. That is something that should always be done when you bring a new dog home, be it a puppy or an adult. With new puppies, it's usually stated in the contract. At 8 weeks, your new little boy is a bit young to be leaving it's mother (though it's been done and they can do fine), so make sure you have him vet checked, as well as a once over on the girls. I am no expert, just my advice from my experiance. Good luck with them all......let us know how it goes with the vet!

| Instant love ! Congratulations ! I wish somebody would have given me a girl to go with my 2 boys but DH is adiment about onlyhaving 2 and our Cocker ! We have a very finicky eater but but it down to the trama of his first home ( he is a brother to our Ryder but came to us a month later when the lady that had bought him brought him back because she split with her DH ) . Turns out Tuc had been left a lot in a kennel and very little socializing . With a lot of attention , he has become the outgowing one ! Try a bit of chopped chicken and cooked cold rice ...... that is Tuc's favorite when he doesn't want to eat ........... and raw carrots ! How are the 3 of your babies doing now ? |
