| Will he stop marking or am I doomed? Tucker is supposed to get neutered on Monday. He is 6 months old and just started marking and really lifting his leg outside. With in the past two weeks, he has started marking outside on our walks. I have him go in our yard before the walk and then I try not to let him mark everything on our walks. He slips a few in anyway. He does not mark inside my house but yesterday we stopped by a neighbors house who has two yorkies. When we went inside he promptly lifted his leg and peed on their couch Fortunately they weren't mad. Anyway, I could not find a vet that would neuter before 6 months. I am willing to do belly bands, but I'm afraid I have waited too long and this will be a problem. What do you guys think? Am I doomed? LOL! |

| Harley was almost 3 when I got him. He was not netured and had been used for breeding. The first time he walked in the house he lifted his leg and pee-d on me ...walked over and did the same to my husband and son in about 30 sec. flat!!! The next day, while I was BUSY sewing belly bands, he marked on everything in my house, thank goodness I have wood laminate floors! I waited a week before he had his surgery, I wanted him to get used to us first. He marked 3... maybe 4 times after surgery, but I have not seen him or found a single spot in the last month! I cannot believe how it has calmed him down, it has just turned him into a little lover boy. I still watch him close, and keep a can with pennys in EACH room so I can grab/shake/and BAD BOY him just in case. It worked great for us....am wishing you good luck with it too. Kathy-Ut |

| Chachi has been neutered and he still marks outside. He doesnt mark inside my house though. He will also mark if we go to someplace like Petsmart or the vets where he smells other dogs. I just put a belly band on him when we go to those places. So you just never know. Chachi started marking after being neutered

My biewer I got at 5 1/2 mos. on a Sunday, I had him neutered the next day, and he only lifts his leg outside, inside on his pee pads, he kind of leans forwars and goes...he's never marked in the house |

| Was hoping that marking wouldn't visit our house. Did this morning. Caught my 1 yr. 3 mo. old Chipper marking on a blanket that my dominant female had been on. Knew it ticked him off that Rosie controls the pack. Was aware that he marked outside, but......now he brought it indoors. Looked for belly bands at a pet store this afternoon, but they only had female panties. Going to get my can with pennies in every room. Now I'm wondering if getting a male is going to bite me in the derriere. But I do adore the little stinker, so he's here to stay even if it means belly bands for the rest of his life.

| My vet said they neuter at 12 weeks. Is this so, or is it different everywhere by preference. |

| It does seem very soon, especially because these breeds are so small. What is a good age to get a male neuterd? |

| My male marks everything outside..that's what males do.. Bailey was fixed at 6 months and only marked inside at the pet store..where there are alot of other dogs smells..but I keep telling him no and he hasn't done it since. I wouldn't worry if he's never done it inside (except where other dogs have been )..after he's fixed he'll be fine.

| Most vets recommend 6 months old to neuter.
