| Has anyone ever done a Name it and Blame it game? Ok, I thought it would be cute to find out WHY everyone named their babies the names they did, what do you blame the name on? And it's really weird how you just know it's the perfect name, and they know it too! We have 5 un-furred kids and Nickelodeon is a staple in our house. We always have SpongeBob or Chowder or something on from that channel. When we got our little guy, my husband wanted to call him Corky. We tried that for about a week but boy, it never fit him and it was hard to roll off the tongue. My 14 year old daughter was playing with him one day and she said, I think we should name him Chowder. You could almost hear the audible click as time stood still and the name popped into place perfectly! Pippin's name came from The Lord of the Rings...Ok, I know the Pippin in the movie was male, but the minute I laid eyes on my little girl, it was like a gong going off in my head-PIPPIN, PIPPIN! I knew it was her name and it is exactly perfect too! When she barks, it's not really a bark, she makes a "pip" sound. The vet couldn't believe it when she did it the first time with him, he said that there was no way we could have picked a more fitting name for her. |

| LOL! My college roommate dated this guy and his last name was Jamison. He was a really great guy and so funny. And when I got my little boy, his personality just seemed so much like my roommates boyfriend. So much so that he made the same facial expressions as this guy sorta. So I named him Jamison and call him "Jamie".

| I thought I was so clever naming my first little girl yorkie Addison. I had wanted to name her Abigail (Abby) and a friend of mine stole the name from me for her puppy! meanie! So I was whining to my bf that I still want to name her something and cal lher Abby for short, so he said why not Addy. I was so proud of him and thought well Adeline is the only name that Addy could be short for and I didn't really like it so I was going to name her Madison and call her Maddy. My bf says why not Addison and you can call her Addy! Well I go get Addison and the next day take her to the vet and the tech says "Oh cute did you name her after Addison on Grey's Anatomy?" I had never watched the show, so I decided to check it out. Now I'm hooked. I had to download all the episodes and watch from day one. Boy am I glad I did. Talk about eye candy! As for Brady, his name is Brady Angus! We LOVE the name Angus and call him that all the time. But like the name Brady for a little boy and since my yorkies are as close as I'll ever get to children I wanted to give him a big boy name to match his rocker name! Angus of course is from ac-dc. I love my little punk boy!

| fun game.... I am a BIG Marilyn Monroe fan - as is my husband. I wanted to call our puppy Marilyn. My hubby said that wasn't a very cute puppy name, and thought Norma Jean would be better.........(her real name for those that don't know that - marilyn Monroe was a studio created name). So we named her that, but call her Jeanie because that REALLY suits her......only Norma Jean comes out once in a while. So we call her Jeanie mostly, or Jean Jean - or Meanie Jeanie (when she is being mean to the cat)........ |

| Well I somehow got into the alcohol theme with the dogs names. It started years ago with the first dog (Chihuahua ) named Tequilla ,then came Brandy ( long-haired chihuahua ),then Tia (I guess short for tia maria )she's a shih tzu cross and finally Remy (remy martin ).....Psssst! here's a little secret, Remy's registered name is " Rembrandts little maserati " so I sorta did manage to break away from this trend.....don't tell anyone ! Donating YT 7000 Club Member | Here's Tucker's story. We used to have a yorkie puppy named Bandit. We got him from a pet store, and he died a month later. We had taken him to a vet named Dr. Tucker, and Dr. Tucker was also the one who put Bandit to sleep, and who helped us get our money back from the sob at the pet store. We knew about 2 weeks after Bandit died that we needed another pup. We found a breeder in our area, and we went to visit her pups. We decided on Tucker (though we hadn't chosen his name yet). My mom and I were sitting at home...talking about names. She wanted to name him Brady, which we had basically agreed on, but I was still meh on it. My dad walked in after going to talk to Dr. Tucker, and he said "Dr. Tucker wants you to know (blah blah blah)." but when he said Tucker my mom and I looked at each other and it was like "THAT'S IT!" and his registered name is Tuck Everlasting. Tuck Everlasting is one of my favorite books, and its about a stream in the woods and when you drink from it you live forever.

YT Addict | i wanted to name our baby something really cute like Harley or Big Daddy but my fiance wouldnt have it. so on the way home after we picked him up that first night, i said, "aww, babe look! he's asleep and look at how far his tounge is hanging out..just like Odie off of Garfield, i bet it curls up inside his brain lol" and about that time he woke up and just looked at me... we waited a minute and when he looked away i called out the name "Odie" and he turned and just looked at me soo lovingly....so it stuck! =] as for the rest of his name, well i just wanted something that sounded awesome! so thats how i came up with "Odius Maximus" and finally i love the song, "Rock Me Amadeus" and since "deus" rhymes with "mus" it all stuck with him! | With Slade I had picked several names I had liked, and put them up on Petfinder msg boards for a vote. I don't even remember if Slade was the top pick or not, but it just seemed to fit him. I wanted to name him "remington Slade' but that sounded to much like a razor, so I decided on "o'malley Slade" but after about a wk of having him, that didn't fit either. So I had always liked the name "Jack Slade" from the dixie chicks song and a friend had jokingly said okeechobee was cool name, So I ended up going with "lil jack slade of okeebee hill", calledSlade.

| OMG Im loving this one My hubby wanted to name our baby ruff ruff Yes! Ruff Ruff. I thought he was playing but we got buzz home and he is like "here ruff ruff here boy" I looked at him and told him he is crazy! So we had a talk and since we are Disney fans I told him lets look for a disney name. We went donw the line and he was almost gonna get Stitch as a name before I said lets try something.... We will call out disney boy names and the one that gets a responce wins. so we started. We called out a few and when we got to Buzz His head came right up and he sat from a lying down position and that was it. BUZZ stood....

| I decided to go with the name Kobe. My husband liked it and we were set on Kobe. But I could not get Kobe Bryant out of my head (I am not a big fan of his!). So my husband and I sat on the couch one night batting around K and C names. He randomly came up with Cooper and I instantly loved it! Luckily his name fits his personality.

| MY boy was named Joe by the breeder family! But my brother's name is Joe- and my BF's son is Joey- so that wasn't going to work! He was only 4 weeks onld when i first saw him- so I thought for a day- and then it came to me-Banjo- and kept a little of his first name! It is a good name for him, and I am glad I thought of it!

| I was going to name my dog lula... hence the screename.. i picked it before i even found a dog. it was like i expected the dog to fit into the name, rather than the name fitting to the dog (if that makes sense). anyway, sooo after two close calls where i didnt end up getting the dog, i found the dog i have now. i wasnt even expecting to get her!! i was like FINE WE WILL GO SEE HER. kinda like, whatever... not getting my hopes up. when i saw her she was so amazingly tiny and cute. and her parents were sooo SMALL. we took her home that night and i tried calling her lula but it didnt roll off the tongue right.. GOOD GIRL LULA.. it just didnt work! also, i came on here and i saw soooo many LULU's and LOLAs and even a LULA (i thought it was such a unique name that no one would have it lol). I was like grr! anyway, one of the previous breeders had a dog named pebbles that was really small, and the day before i had mentioned her to my therapist and her face lit up with the name! she said it was a cute one.. and i kept thinking of PEBBLES and BAM BAM from the flintstones.. and how pebbles has the little BOW on her head just like a yorkie. after reading friends and family tons of names, and calling her "puppy" and "baby" for two days my mom said JUST CALL HER PEBBLES!!! and after a whileof my mom calling her that it just stuckk.. i think it really fits her now. its kinda cutesy and girly and thats how i view her oh i havent picked her akc name yet.. i was thinking pebbles raspberry rose... but it sooo doesnt sound like an .. AKC name lol if anyone has any ideas PM me

| Zoe had her name from the breeder, but her littermate brother was unnamed (at 5 months!) so, we wanted another Z name and since my husband is a Brak fan... Zorak seemed the perfect choice. I wanted to name him Zeus... but my daughter said we could not name a dog after a false god... hehe
