| HI! My 1st post and a question.... HI all! I'm kinda new, I've been reading posts and looking at pics for the last couple of weeks, this seems like a great site! I will try to post pics of my little ones soon... I have a question, I have heard of a blonde Yorkie, but what do they look like? A lady is offering a "blonde" to my mom. I will try to attach the pics she sent....We had a question of whether this was a full Yorkie or a X, but the lady is very adamant that he is a pure, 100% Yorkie. He is 9 months old but she says that it takes the blonde Yorkies longer to get their full hair...what do you think? And thanks for any help! |

| Welcome to YT! Yes, there is a such thing as a "blonde" Yorkie. There is a member here (Julz) that has a very pretty blonde girl named Mercedes. I have to say I would be very cautious though of anyone with any off-colored Yorkie and would question if it really does have something else in the background, just to err on the side of caution. Did this lady breed this dog herself? Does she have the parents? Does she have other breed dogs in the home? (just for starters) And make sure you are not getting charged an outrageous price for a "rare" color Yorkies...that is not the case as this is a color flaw according to the set standard and not something that is/should be purposely bred FOR for the sake of rarity. With ANY Yorkie of any color, you can expect it to take a good year for them to start really developing their full, adult coat. However, just from looking at the pictures you posted, this dog seems to have a very wirey coat and I would seriously doubt that the pooch will ever have a long, flowing, smooth coat. |

| First welcome to YT. I am in no way a Yorkie expert but I will give you my opinion. I have a very close friend who has a yorkie that looks almost identical to this one. I mean coloring and apparent hair texture (kind of hard to tell by picture). Anyway, her baby whom is the sweetest thing ever never gets long hair and for that reason as well as others we have come to the conclusion that she is not full blood. The great thing is that my friend and her family love her very much and wouldn't trade her for anything. On the other hand my friend obviously got scammed by the breeder. With that said I agree with Bamafan (who has tons more experience than I do) about being very cautious and certainly not paying to much. Otherwise I think the baby is super cute and I am sure he will make a great companion for your mom. Good luck and keep us posted.

| Welcome to YT I'm sure you will find answers to all your questions here. I think the pictures you sent of the blonde are wonderful. If you are not planning on showing her or using her for breeding and are just looking for a wonderful pet, I would get her, but be cautious about the price. I have two yorkies, one I adopted from a rescue the other I bought. Pixie, the rescue, has a totally different coat than Rowdy. They are both full blood Yorkies though. Their coats are both beautiful. Rowdy's is more silky while Pixie's is coarser and more cotton. Good luck to you and your new one.

| Thanks so much everyone! I was looking at all your avatars...You all have gorgeous babies! I also looked up the member Julz, wow! Her golden Yorkie is stunning! I haven't picked up this Blonde Yorkie yet, I'm meeting the lady tomorrow....She says she is not the breeder, her daughter bought the pup from a breeder in OR, but now he is too aggressive with the other dogs in the house so they need to find him another home. He is not AKC, he is CKC, I don't know much about CKC though. He looks a lot like a Cairn Terrier to me.... |
