YT Addict | Trading puppies... This just get's me fired up! Have you guys noticed the increased amount of classifieds where people post about trading their dogs/pups? Am I just nuts or is everyone else outraged? I just saw a post on craigslist, stating that she purchased an older yorkie puppy about 6 months ago and would prefer to trade for a toy poodle, because the maintenance of the coat is just too much. How are people so willing to "trade" their pets? I instantly took my baby under my wing the minute I saw him.

| I agree. I think it is terrible. It's almost as though there are no emotional ties there whatsoever. I wouldn't trade my two puppies for anything, they are here for as long as they live. Janelles |

| I can honestly say that I have never seen that and I think it is awful! Don't they realize that purchasing an animal is a 10-20year commitment and you just don't get rid of it because you are bored of it or it did not turn out to be what you thought it would be!!!

| I don't get that! I would never give my Tucker to anyone! I love him sooo much. Honestly, and I feel like a bad mom for saying this, but I love him as much as my daughter. |

| Some weird people out there who don't care much for their dogs and think they are just a property will do that I think Some people just do plain weird things that no one else understands.

YT 1000 Club Member | To be honest, It's like, wouldn't it be better at the end? If she couldn't care for the coat then it is good she's trying to find a home where they could. Even if she didn't do her research before purchasing, atleast now she could find a better home and realize this is not the breed for her. Also, many breeders trade puppies. Trade female puppies to bring in different lines. |

| I dont understand that either I love my dogs so much I dont think I could ever "trade" them. I think before to much longer I am going to have to find a new home. There are other big dogs (strays) in the neighborhood that are jumping on him I dont know what to do. Any suggestions (he is only 6 mos old) I dont know what else to do as we dont have animal control in this town Oh and aren't poodles kinda high maintenance too?

| I dont understand that. The only thing I could understand is if a legitimate breeder was willing to trade a pup with another breeder for another pup that they might want to breed later. And thats only if its legit. Too many puppy mills out there that are probably in the trading game I imagine.
