| [News] Yorkie in Fundraising Relay 2 miles is quite a stretch, but Yoda has successfully done around 2 miles+... --- PAWS will be pounding the streets from Blackpool to Whitworth today as part of a ‘Hounds for Pounds’ fund-raising walk for Rose Worrall. A group of eight eager pooches ranging from Tammy, a 16-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, to Murray, a two-year-old Dalmation, are set for a 48-mile walkies. The relay event will see each dog tackle a two-mile stretch of the route, starting from Blackpool Tower to the Shawforth boundary of Whitworth. Event organisers Alice McGowan and Beverley Phillips are hoping they can keep up with their dedicated dogs. Mrs McGowan from Woodbank Road, Littleborough, came up with the idea after she spotted her Whitworth cousin baking cakes to raise funds for the eight-year-old, who is suffering from a brain tumour. The 48-year-old, who celebrates her birthday today, said: "I love animals and walk dogs anyway so doing something like this for Rose seemed like a natural thing to do." Mrs Phillips, from Heald Close, Littleborough, said: "We carried out a trial run on Monday and managed 10 miles in three hours, which was encouraging." Anyone wishing to make a donation can send them to Yorkshire Bank, sort code 05-07-22, account number 24783530. http://www.rochdaleobserver.co.uk/ne..._id=20550.html |

| That's a great idea for a fundraiser!! Hope it's a great success. Toto could probably sprint two miles [she is so fast ... I know I couldn't keep up with her!] Any more than that and her little short legs would be reaching up begging someone to carry her the rest of the way!! ;-)

| Yup, 2 miles seems to be Yoda's limit as well, when he gets tired, he'll go for a little bit, stop and look up constantly... That's his little signal that he's done exercising for the day. 2 miles is quite a stretch for such a little fella... |
