| Yorkie giveaway???? Wanted to get your thoughts on this. I know a breeder who is getting ready to give away a free male yorkie that is 8 months old. She said she has some conditions for this give away. Give me your thoughts on this as I don't know if it's right or wrong but I know she is doing this out of the kindness to all who have purchased from her to basically to show her appreciation. | that sounds odd...never heard of anyone doing something like that. i would ask a LOT of questions. an 8 month old pup, huh? just weird. I would be skeptical I think. but then again....I'm always skeptical LOL

| I know his only draw back is that he needs to be the only pet in the household as he is pet aggressive. And she wants him neutered. He is AKC registered. |

| She probably wants him on a limited registration because if he is aggressive he shouldn't be bred... Probably only good for a no kids, no other pets household. |

Limited registration yes because who ever gets him would have to have him neutered. But he gets along with her adult children and grandchildren, so I would say he would be fine with children. Just doesn't get along with other pets.

| freebie Goodness gracious...I know lots of us breeders who have given away puppies...there can be all kinds of reasons. I had 11 female puppies one time and gave one away...I stopped counting a long time ago how many of my dogs went to free...sometimes it is just the right thing to do... I had an oversized boy, 4 months of age about 14 yrs ago..I told God if a family came along who wanted a big boy, they could have him...it wasn't a full 24 hrs, a woman called and said her family had been praying every evening at bed time for a puppy, they had $500, could I help her find a Yorkie...what do you think???? I told her to use the money for vet fees and neutering...Scooter lived until late last year..he had a wonderful life... When they came to get the puppy, the 9 yr old son told me he really did not think God would answer his prayer, but he was wrong! Whispermoms has given so many puppies and adults away over the years..I have lost count.. So it is not odd to my ears... Last edited by YorkieRose; 02-17-2008 at 05:55 PM. |

There certainly are good people out there who in my thoughts just want to give something back if you know what I mean. And that's what she is going to do. She said God has blessed them and it's time to say thanks. I know of two other times she has given yorkies away for one reason or another. So it's is not strange for this to happen and I am glad you responded.

| It really does happen. We gave our little Princess (12 wks old & Jack's sister)to a co-worker of DH & it we told them the same thing, to use the $$ for vet fees. I also sent along a gift bag of food, shampoo, pee pads, toys, blankets, a yorkie book, my crate & yorkie yummies (thanks Cindy). Sometimes good things need to happen for good people.

I would hope anyone would ask questions as I am sure she is going to ask plenty of questions before she decides as who to give the dog to.
