yorkie help! Help! my yorky eats his own waste! I notice that he is only interested when I give him wet dog food before he poops. If it was dry food he smells it and leave it alone. Can it be the wet food that I'm giving him? He also likes to hang around his pee too on the pee pad. What can be wrong with him?

Nothing is wrong with your dog. Poop eating is very common with Yorkies. It is usually more of a puppy thing but some adults still do it. How old is your Yorkie? Male Yorkies are also bad about smelling and licking pee. There is a supplement you can add to their food to make them quit eating their poop.

Really I had no idea that this is something that puppies do. I totally freaked out when I saw him chewing on bits of his poop and feel bad for punishing him. Where can I find this supplement for his food. My friends alway says that he smells really bad. After I give him a bath a few hours later he'll start to smell again, what should I do about this, I dont want him to sleep like his waste forever!

What kind of food is he on? I think one of the products is called Forbid. You might check at Petsmart for it. Also, a great place to order products is Revival Animal Health Products. I think I read on another thread that you can add a little crushed pineapple to their food and that might make them quit eating poop.

| That's a secret club of poop eaters that no one wants to put in their signature line! Puppies often do it. Our older Shi Tzu did as a puppy. The additive to the food works wonders and quickly. Here's a link to some info for you. Good Luck!! http://www.dogtrainingbasics.com/Poo...0Anonymous.htm
