| Biddy is chewing her coat! Biddy has been biting ar her side and scratching at it. I've looked at her skin & I don't see any irritation. BUT, yesterday I noticed a huge patch of hair that she has been biting at is WAY shorter than the rest of her! Any ideas what this could be? What I can do to stop it? AND do I have to shave her down to even her out?! She was just starting to get a nice longish coat THANKS!

| Might also be a skin irritation from a new food or shampoo. Have you used anything new lately?

| It's defintely not fleas. I have checked her over with a fine tooth comb (literally!). I'm using the same shampoo & feeding her the same foods that I always have. It only seems to be the one spot on her side & her skin doesn't even look irritated. I'm stumped.

| Buy pure Tea Tree Oil in the small brown bottle and use it very sparingly. It has 2 purposes..1 is it is a mild antiseptic and 2 she will not like it and will stop chewing. I use it all the time for me and my babies. YorkieRose has had experience with it as well on a spot on one of her girls.. |

| I actually buy mine from the Shoppers Food Warehouse grocery store. BUT, you can find it in health food stores also. Do not use a product that has TTO or Malaleuca as 1 of several ingredients. There are shampoos and stuff that have it but you need the pure Tea Tree Oil also known as Malaleuca..Use very sparingly-just put a wee bit on with a cotton applicator.. It will smell but does not stink.. |
