| Cutting Hair? I've been thinking about grooming Kiki myself and have a question for those of you who do it yourselves. Do you cut the hair after a bath while it is wet or do you dry it and then cut? Kiki has gone to the groomers several times so far but it always seems that they don't cut enough off even after I tell them how I want it. So I am constantly trimming here and there to shorten up the face and mustache area. When you do the entire body, is it easier to cut it when it is dry? I am planning to use scissors for the body too, I think. Any suggestions would be helpful. Anna www.dogster.com/dogs/511397 |

| I only cut Ellie when she is dry. I do not bathe her first and I scissor cut her whole body.

| I like to cut their hair when it's dry, this way you see what it looks like and can gauge how much your taking off. Beside, I like to wash their hair after a cut so they are not itchy..

| Thanks everyone for your replies. I guess everyone does the cut the same way on dry hair. Good idea to give the bath afterwards to get all the loose hair off. Thanks!! Anna |

| i do both. I have found it is easier to see the bad tangles that are close to the skin, and to be able to really see I am not cutting skin. also on the private areas I think it is much easier to cut when wet from bath.

| If your useing a nice pair of scissors or clippers, then make sure the coat is clean and dry first or you will ruin these. I bathe before and after. The after is when I use the conditioners, not before. |
