| My Yorkie Hates Hair Brush please help!!! Hello there! I’m extremely new to YorkieTalk but I have a question. I tried looking through the archives so I would tee anyone off by asking this but: My dog hates being brushed is there any advice on how to brush her without her biting us? Any advice is welcome! |

| Buddy doesn't like his hairbrush either....I had to start giving him pieces of cheese while I brushed him so that he would sit still long enough. Now it's to the point where as soon as I am done brushing, he will grab the brush from me and run and take it under the bed. The brush is completely chewed up from his letting the aggression out on the brush lol. BTW, Welcome to YorkieTalk!

| Mine never liked a brush so I started off with a cat's flea comb (it's small enough to fit in the palm of your hand) and then I switched to a full-sized dog comb. Maybe it'll work for your baby Oops, forgot to welcome you to YT!

| One of my yorkies is like that too. I would feed her treates while you brush her and say "good girl" over and over again in a high pitched voice. in the beginning dont brush her for too long. slowly ease her into it |

| I started off with a soft baby brush, then graduate to one that actually does some good. |

| Welcome to YT!! Well make sure to never brush a dry coat -- that pulls the coat & damages the coat & may hurt the yorkie too. I recommend a good spritzer -- I like Buddy Splash by Cloud Star www.cloudstar.com -- you can buy their products a lot of places & someone on YT has it on their website too. Buddy Splash is filled with natural herbs & oils. Smells great. Also, make sure you use the right kind of brush for a yorkie. Some brushes are not made for their silky coats. I'm assuming you have a silky coat. One of the best investments I ever made was in a Chris Christensen brush - I have 20mm Gold Pin brush. The dogs don't mind this brush at all - I rather think they like it. http://www.chrissystems.com/brushes.htm Good luck
