| Welcome to YT. You're going to love it here. Don't know what to suggest about the guinea pig , it could be a problem as you don't know his background. My two are fine with all other animals, but they were here before the yorkies, so CoCo & Coffee are used to them. Sheilagh

| Welcome to YT! So glad you rescued little Joe! Yorkies were bred to hunt rats. He may see your Guinea Pig as a large rat. Idon't know if keeping it up high would help or not Good Luck! |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk! What a good person you are to take in a stray. Joe is a lucky boy and he sounds very smart. Maybe he killed the bird because he is new and felt unsure at first. If he has had a rough life he might need more time and understanding. Sounds like he has a wonderful forever home now. Probably keep the guinea pig out of his reach for now...hopefully he will realize the GP is part of the pack. Looking forward to seeing more pictures of Joe.

| birders I have a boston terrier and a min schnauzer that will jump up almost as high as my head to kill birds. It freaks me out everytime! My yorkie on the other hand will be in the front yard where we have a bird feeder (to attract birds away from the back yard where the other two spend a lot of their time) and 50 birds can be on the ground feeding and she never even notices them (of course half the time she has her hair in her eyes since she takes it down EVERY SINGLE time I put it up)! lol... but I think she just isn't interested. |

| Congrats on your new yorkie and welcome to YT. I have a love bird and a canary, and I wouldn't trust having either of them out of their cage with Maddie around. My younger yorkie, I'm not sure, but I don't think she'd hurt them, but I'm not going to take a chance.

| Welcome to YT!! How wonderful that you've rescued Joe & can give him a forever home. Someone else from Stoke On Trent just joined YT in the last 2 wks - don't know how big that is, but I remembered the name because I had never heard of it before and then another YTer posted that they or their family was from there -- gosh, I don't remember who. Be sure to sign Joe up for our Little Gentleman's Club, you can do so on this thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ight=gentleman
