| there is nothing more pathetic than a crying puppy we bought lily may home tonight, we played for a while then she acted like she was getting tired so i put her in her pen. she was crying for about 2 minutes when my husband said let her out. i told him NO, she has to learn to stay in the pen. she sounds so pathetic. hope i make it thur the night LOL. when we got her home her nails were getting caught on the carpet, she let me cut all her nails!!!!!!!!! she fussed a little but not much. i feel so bad hearing her cry, she sounds like her little heart is broken. gloria |

Senior Yorkie Talker | I know what you mean. It took me about 5 nights of it. Now my little guy will sleep when I put him in there but I still have to wake up in the night to let him out to do his thing as they can only hold it for so long. It does get better.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | After 5 nights of no sleep...I couldn't take the crying anymore. I NEEDED SLEEP! And with sleep in mind, I put Ramsey in the bed with us...where we all happily got some sleep. She has slept there ever since. I toughed it out exactly....hmmmm...30 minutes the FIRST night Reese was home.

YT 2000 Club Member | Aweee, bless your lil girlie, she sounds so sweet. I'm sure she'll get used to her crate in no time at all, ya just gotta be consistent and not cave and let her out when she whines. I know it's hard, if you're anything like me you feel like your just treating them so bad when they cry like that, lol.

| I was a sucker for this! I can not bear the sound to hear my lil yorkie boy cry either, so I kept him in the bed with me. Two years later he is still in the bed with me and the only time he sleeps in his bed is when he takes a nap and I am not there. I would not have it any other way, I love having him in my bed and he enjoys it too!

| poor baby It just breaks my heart to hear them cry.. When I got Kayah (she was gated off in the kitchen) she kept crying.. so I took her and slept on the floor with her.. the second night she cried but not as much.. and the third night.. holy wow!!! I was worried that she'll pee on the bed.. but took her anyway.. she never peed (on the bed) I guess I'm going to have to go through this when Evie comes home

| dO YOU LET HER SEE YOU GUYS OR DO YOU LEAVE HER IN ANOTHER ROOM IN HER CRATE. I HAD TO LEAVE ZIGGY IN ANOTHER ROOM THEN HE WOULD BE QUIET. HE WAKES UP THOUGH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, BUT ITS STILL SLEEP

My Little Man! Donating Member | Oh poor baby. I guess I consider myself very lucky because when Maxi was a pup he never cried when we went to sleep and he was in his crate sleeping throu the night with no problems. If my puppy would cry it will break my heart too.

| Aww...luckily with Charlie he did okay with the wining. the 1st night my husband let him out of the cage to roam the bedroom so he was fine, but I was mad at him for doing that. The 2nd night he wined a bit and as he was getting louder I hit his crate with rolled up papers and said no barking. now when I say night night (and he's ready for bed) he'll go to his crate lay down and go to sleep. He only scratchs at the day when he needs to potty and if he really has to go he'll wine just a lil. GL |

| Awww...The first night we had Buddy I wanted to keep him in his kennel. With my BF being a soldier and having to get up at five though, he couldn't take it anymore and at two AM let Buddy in the bed with us. He's been sleeping with us ever since!

| She just needs time and she'll love it in her area! Vinnie cried the first night, so I took an old t-shirt, washed it, wore it around for about two hours, and wrapped it around a hot water bottle, so he could smell me near him, even though I didn't have to be right there, he learned to love his crate at night, after a few weeks he didn't need the hot water bottle anymore and learned that his crate was a comfort zone for him....of course...now he sleeps in bed with us!

| Scrappy doesn't whine at night, I usually cuddle and love and pet him to sleep, then once he's asleep - slide him into his bed in his crate. No problems. The whine begins when he goes in his crate when we leave for work. My kids get all upset, "Mama... Scrappy's crying." So I feel guilty, but he's just going to have to deal with it. It's barely been a couple weeks, he'll get used to it. Diana |
