| Why a Red bow? I am just curious, why is it everytime you see a yorkie being shown they have a RED bow in their top knot! Why can't it be pink or blue?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I've seen other colors before, primarily red though. I believe it's because it looks so pretty with a yorkie's coloring and it shows up so well.

| The red color usually brings out the color on the Yorkies head better than most other colors. It is definately more flattering. |

You'll normally black bows on a maltese in the ring because it brings out the black pigment around the eyes and on the nose

| I have wondered that too...it does look fantastic though with the yorkies coat colours...heres a picture of Pixie's father at Crufts 2007, they stand on a red mat and have a red slip lead too.

| He is gorgeous and the red does look good on him. I can see why they use that color. It just stands out

| I thought I read somewhere that the red was the traditional color since red yarn/textile scraps were used to tie up topknots in Yorkshire. |
