I also took my pup home at eight weeks because of some other circumstances, but it is quite early for them to go home. So he is probably stressed out. Do you have any nutrical or karo syrup at home? Put some on your finger and he will probably slurp it right up! That way he is getting some sugar, etc, into him so he doesn't have a hypoglycemic episode. The fact that he is drinking is excellent, because you don't want him to get dehydrated. He will eat when he is ready... there are so many new things in your little guys life right now! | |

| Is the food a dry kibble? You can crush it up a little...smaller pieces help. See if he will take it out of your hand. Then try adding a little water to soften it. You can also try a little plain yogurt mixed in or cottage cheese. Have you called the breeder to see what she suggests? Also, a little nutrical can stimulate his appetite. Welcome to YT! Congrats on the new furbaby!

| Put karo syrup in his drinking water. You can try chicken or cottage cheese. or some canned dog food. It isn't as good for them, but any food is better than NO food. |

| When they are that young, they frequently will be off their food for a few days. The stress of the change. I bought 5 different brands of food before mine started eating. Royal Canin small breed baby dog #30. My puppies eat dry kibble at 6 weeks old without it being wet, infact they prefer the dry to the wet. I'm suire he'll start eating better in a couple of weeks, but for now give him anything that he will eat. also remember just a few bites is a lot of food for them. |

| when I had my Tilly as a puppy she wouldn't eat. She used to love playing so I used to throw her kibble over the floor and she used to play with it and then eat it. She used to eat quite a few like this. Then as she got older I put them on a saucer for her. Just try hand feeding your pup. They are so tiny they dont need much but it is worrying when they wont eat anything. |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk and Congratulations to YorkieTalk. Your little one needs to eat, so.... why not get in the kitchen and boil up a lean chicken breast. Using just a bit of broth smash up a bit of the meat until it is a thick mush. Add some kibble and let it get soft. Hopefully he will eat his "doctored up kibble. I would also continue with a bit of Kayro Syrup or Nutrical. Be sure to discuss this with your vet when you take the little one for his well puppy check-up. What type of kibble did the breeder send you home with? |

| Bella was giving me a time with eating when she was first home. She didn't want to have anything to do with anything I offered to her. Finally I ended up settling on wet food and she was eating it off my finger. After a few days of this she was eating it on her own, then we switched back over to the dry kibble and she was doing well on it. I also had given her, cottage cheese and gerber baby good meats.

| What I would do is to take a little warm water and put it on the food about 20 min. before you feed him, this way it will be soft and easy for him to eat..if you decide to switch his food, do it gradually..within a couple more weeks, he shoudl be able to eat the harder kibble |

| If your pup is used to this food, she is probably just stressed from the move. I'd try handfeeding her a few bites and see if she'll go for it. When I first got Tink and for several months I had to sit on the floor with her and feed her out of my hand. I still do this when she isn't feeling well (although now she eats homecooked mostly and that can sure be messy). Congratulations and Good luck with your baby! |
