| What is your opinion allowing your yorkie lay in your bed? Hi! I would like to know, if you allow your yorkie take nap with you in bed. if you allow your yorkie go to your own bed??? I hear a comment in the TV News , that we dont allow pets go to human bed, to prevent bacterias and other insects... what do you think??? I have many friends that have diffrends breeds dogs and sleep with them in bed... this is confusing would you let me know what you think ... I love my yorkie!!! I like to have him with me. Thanks ! | my yorkies sleep on their own bed......that is just my personal preference. I know alot of people who let their dogs sleep with them, and never have heard of a bacteria problem. By the way......i'm near Rochester! |

YT 500 Club Member | Mine has slept with us for at least 4 1/2 years or more, and I really can't sleep unless she is there. I wake up during the night and feel her next to me, and I know she is safe. My husband is the one who started this. He felt sorry for her sleeping alone in her kennel.

| Livi sleeps, each and every night, in our bed. She even (typically) takes her daytime naps on our bed. When we get our next Yorkie puppy, he will also be allowed to sleep with us. Tammy |

Some people allow the dogs to sleep with them, some yorkies have their own beds, and some are crated at night...it's really your personal preferance I think. My yorkies sleep in our bed.

| Ours sleep with us. Reggie sleeps at the foot of the bed. But Coby sleeps at the top of the bed. There is just nothing better than having a little one snuggle up to you for safety and comfort. It reminds me of when my kids were preschoolers and would come climb in bed with me in the middle of the night. Someone here on YT told me something that was precious. I don't remember who or the exact wording (so whoever you are please forgive me for slaughtering this, but I've always remembered it - I think she had a girl). "I reach out to her in the night, not to let her know that I am there, but to assure myself that she is there." I just found that to be so incredibly true.

| I think one of the greatest joys I have is waking up in the middle of the night and being able to pet Gizmo or to rub his belly. When he was little though, he slept in a playpen beside our bed because I was concerned that he might fall off. Now we have steps to the bed and I am very comfortable with him getting down by himself. He's also pee pad trained now. I wouldn't think you would need to worry about bugs or bacteria if you keep your yorkie groomed and up to date on flea meds.

| Media talks about alot of things not totally true. They can make us afraid to do anything. But the love of a dog is unconditional and if you keep your dog clean and your bedding clean and want to sleep with them then do that. If they have been in come bad conditions and then you let then come to bed after being at a park.......maybe the best things would be wash there feet and legs off before they come into your bed. The media doesn't always say why they report things to us. I have always slept with my dogs unless they were so small then they slept in a soft side bed and that was put by my legs. I love reaching out and holding that dog wrapped up in my arms and Getting those puppy kisses before we all go to sleep. I wouldn't have it any other way.
