| A little bit of a rant.. So.. I have a friend who has wanted a Yorkie for the loonnngeesssst time. Since I've had Franklin, we've been talking a lot about her maybe getting her puppy soon (she's waiting on her boyfriend to buy it for her). This is what irks me. She told me that she only wants a dog if it's TINY TINY. She asked me about Franklin's size and kind of commented on how big he was. I told her the cons of having a tiny baby.. that they were so much harder to take care of and required so much time and attention. She doesn't care. She wants a cute tiny little baby. Which, I guess is fine if she's willing to put in the time and money to look after a tiny baby. THEN she tells me she wants to breed her Yorkie. She wants to get a Yorkie and a Maltese and breed them! I told her that was ridiculous and that breeding was extremely hard work and that the world didn't need any more "designer" dogs in pounds and rescues. She still doesn't care.. she wants puppies. She's just one of those girls who is prissy and just wants a little dog so she can have all the attention of having a tiny dog. She's a good friend of mine but I just got so frustrated with her. Any way to talk some sense into her?

| Girl, don't even get me started....your friend needs a major education. Why don't you point her to YT and tell her to read, read, read.

| yep, she needs some YT Therapy!! We'll set her head straight! But don't present it that way -- sugar coat it, tell her if she really wants to get a yorkie, she should really join our fun community & she might even find her yorkie on YT. Tell her she can come here to learn or just have fun (because goodness knows, you can't be here long & not learn something!)

YT 500 Club Member | This bothers me for one reason in particular. I just came home from an "I Love My Dog" Expo here in my city this morning. I took Sophie, who is about 7 1/2 pounds, a little bigger than some and smaller than others. I wanted to take her because she needs to be around other dogs, but there were soooo many dogs, and so many big dogs. Until I was leaving (about an hour into it) she was the smallest one there. There were plenty of toy or small breed dogs, and there were also many Great Dane (there was a Great Dane rescue there), and all kinds in between. But to make a long story short, I had to carry her the whole time so that she wouldn't get stepped on or (heaven forbid), some other dog decided it didn't like her. When I was leaving there was a couple who was just coming in. They had two "tiny, tiny" Yorkies. Personally, I thought they looked a little sickly, but I don't think they were. Anyway, those dogs would never be on the floor with the other dogs. It is hard enough to worry about your little one being a meal for some other dog, but to have a dog that is so delicate that it could get hurt so very easy, I just couldn't have a dog like that. Well, enough said. Good luck with your friend. I think everyone has to have the dog he/she wants. So I guess she will probably get whatever she decides is best for her.

| If she gets a TINY TINY Yorkie and breeds it, it would very likely die.

| To me, this is an experiment by someone who does not know what their doing, with a tiny, living, breathing, little creature, and it's just wrong, wrong, wrong. My opinion. Janelles |
