| I don't know. Take him out before you place him in the kennel? Whispersmom2 who used to be on here a lot and raised yorkies said yorkies will do this for some unknown reason. Have you considered an xpen which would give him more space? Yorkies need space to go to the bathroom. Most are walkers while they are going.

| How long at a time are you putting him in there? I never used the crate, I have always used an xpen, this way they have more room, and can have their beds at one end, pee pad at the other and food and water in the middle.. |

| Xpen He is only in there for a couple of hours, but even if i put him in for a half hour he still poops, I am not quite sure what an X-Pen is I think I have an idea. Is it just an open cage? |

| I agree. When we lived in the apartment, we tried to paper-train Buddy. I put the paper all over the kitchen floor (linoleum), but he would move the paper and poop on the floor. Since I knew we were moving into a house with a yard, I let him continue this bad habit since at least he wasn't doing it on the carpet. Buddy is completely potty trained, but when we moved into the house, he would still poop on the kitchen floor (again linoleum) at night when we went to bed (Buddy sleeps with us but we keep the doors open so he can get to his water if he needs it). One night I just blocked off the kitchen and he waited until morning to poop outside. Ever since, I block off the kitchen at night and he waits until morning. I think he just figured that the linoleum floor was the place to poop.

| Buddy does that too! There will be a sweater laying on the queen size bed and he will cuddle into the sweater instead of the blankets. Even when I lay out my clothes to take a shower Buddy will be lying on the clothes when I get out of the shower.
