| prayers needed please I usually just read what everyone is posting and really learn alot (plus I enjoy reading about Yorkies). Our family has 2 Yorkies (Addi, 1 year and Romeo, 3 months) and they are both doing fine. It seems like people are always dropping stray animals at our house and we have a neighbor that is always bringing animals home but does not take care of them. Well we usually end up feeding them and try to find homes for them. Yesterday I came home to find a kitten in our outbuilding. She just looked like she was sleeping but when I called to her she could not walk. She tried to stand but her back legs would not work. We called our Vet and she said to bring her on in. As soon as she saw her she said she was in shock and dehydrated. She also feared her back was broken. She did an X-ray and only saw a slight break near where the leg joins the hip. She said lets start some fluids and see how she is in the morning. Well this morning she was still not better and after blood tests showed an extremely high white blood cell count she was really concerned. She called alittle while ago and said she found she had a tear in her bladder. Common sense said to have her put to sleep but my husband and I couldn't do it. Our vet is going to operate in the morning to try to fix the tear. She said if it was too large there would be nothing she could do. This isn't even our cat but she just looked at us we these pleading eyes and we just have to try and save her. I just don't think people realize what happens when they drop animals off or keep getting animals and letting them run loose in the neighborhood. Our kids get attached and so do we. We can't really afford this medical bill and we do not want a cat but I am praying that she makes it and than we are going to find her a good home. Please say a pray for her tonight and I will let you know what happens in the morning. |

| You are very sweet. I have taken in many a stray, too. We used to live in an area where we seemed to get a lot of drops. Our town had a street called 'Dog Drop Lane'. They actually closed the street and dug it up a few years ago. I would take them to the vet, have them neutered or spayed and find them a home nearby - because, of course I loved them by then. I will pray for your sweet kitten and hope to hear good news in the morning. Also Welcome!

| Oh My! You have such a kind heart. I pray that the kitten will have a speedy recovery and will be okay. I'm sure you will be able to find him a home. We just recently brought home a "special needs" kitten from a shelter. His hind leg was almost completely severed and half of his tail was cut off by some sicko who then tied him up in a Wal-Mart sack and left him to die. Luckily, someone with a big heart like you heard him crying when they went to throw the trash and rushed him to the vet. The vet operated and was able to save him and then placed him with one of the rescue organizations that foster animals for adoption. We found him at our local pet-smart adoptathon. He only has 3 legs now and half of his tail, but he gets around just like any other cat. He runs and plays and jumps and climbs. He's just perfect. Most of all, he has the sweetest personality. He loves to climb in your lap and just purrs away. If he is in a room alone, he will meow until we call out his name and he comes running to us purring. Our life is so blessed with him. Not to mention he's a great buddy to our yorkies. I just wanted to share our story to let you know that there is hope for this little kitten and its all thanks to you.

| Bless your kind soul for taking him in. Im praying for your little guy, it breaks my heart, all he wants is a good comfy home, and boo to the jerk who couldn't provide him with that. I just dont get why people can't place their unwaned animals in a good home instead of dumping them |

| And just a suggestion:maybe you should consider reporting your neighbor annonomusly to Animal Control if he's neglecting animals. One thing that really burns me up is animal abuse |

| Yeah you! We have that problem here with dogs, my parents tell me I could have something if I quit spending my money on strays! But I do have something that money can't buy - everytime one of them becomes an ex-stray and goes to a loving home is priceless. Someone has to take some kind of responsibility for these creatures that haven't got a choice or voice!
