| Silly question I really want to get an identification tag for Lexie just in case (God forbid) she ever got away from us. I know enough not to use a around the neck collar for walks because of collapsed trachea and to use a harness instead, but where do you put the id tag if they shouldn't wear a collar? I know this is a silly question, but I would appreciate input nontheless. Thank you in advance! |

| I just put mine around the D-ring where you hook the leash. It's good too 'cause it makes a "clink" sound when they're walking, so it's a good indicator for people coming from around the corner that a little yorkie is comin' around! |

| You could put it on the harness or some people have their yorkies wear colars but dont use the collar for walking only for ID purposes

Senior Yorkie Talker | I have a collar and a harness for mine. I put it on the collar with a little bell so I know where he is at all times. During housebreaking the little bell has been very valuable. Its like a kid.. when everything goes quiet, something is up.

| Teddi always has a collar on with her name and phone # and a bell so I can hear her plus half of her "best friends" heart that she shares with my other dog Cassie. It would be weird to me if she were silent!

| Mine have their name and phone # on the back of a little pink St. Francis charm, and a tiny sterling silver doggie with Sworvorski birthstones on the body and clear on the head, then a tiny zidiac charm. I have these on a tiny chain (less than an inch) and hooked to a tiny pinch hook. This way when I change their harnesses from one color to another, I just unhook these and put on the next harness. I don't put the Rabies or Home Again tags on them. |

| I had Tessa's id tag and rabies tag on her collar that she wore all the time. (We use a harness for walks) I read another thread on YT where a woman's yorkie's tags got caught in her heat vent on the floor and almost choked her baby! Tessa doesn't wear anything when she is in the house anymore.

| NEVER EVER use a collar for walks or training, EVER. These guys have very soft tracheas and any pressure can cause it to collapse. I wouldn't even go with any trainer that suggests the collar be used. Those kind of trainers generally go with the sharp choke up method of training. |
