Spoke with AKC today in re: Red Puppy Litter I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!! It is exactly the opposite of what I expected and read about...AKC is allowing me to register my litter! A YT member inquired as to what I was going to to about registering....now I can!!! I just have to send in 2 photos apiece of the liver and white ones from the front and side standing position with the registration form. They will let me know for sure afterward, but she said it has happened in the past that they accepted them (a liver/white Schnauzer puppy in a litter). I'll let you know for sure once the paperwork comes back. In the meantime, it is more than I hoped for!

I hate to sound stupid, but I need to ask. What do the parents of your puppies look like?? And since you are probably going to be able to register these puppies I assume that they are registered Yorkies too! Don't get me wrong I think your babies are beautiful, I was just very curious. Oh and how old are your babies? My Bell had three babies and they are just a little over two weeks.

Your puppies are precious! Yes, mine are purbred, both parents AKC (father from championship bloodlines). It was just a fluke thing that happened (the color anomaly). I had never heard of red yorkies until the day mine were born (Memorial Day). My pups just turned 6 weeks old yesterday. The father is from a kennel and is shaved down (all but his head)...here is a picture of them.

Red Puppy litter Please help me understand all this. I am an old lady. Until I found this forum I never had seen so many Yorkies of a different color. When did this start to happen ? Are there some lines that have a tendancy to produce color. (I used to have a cat that was of a breed called munchkin- Short legs like a daschaund.) I am amazed and would like to know why so many at this time? I did my reading on the Biewer but still have a lot that I would like to know about. Wnalegria

| That's great. It is just an anomally but that's good that they are letting you register them. Why shouldn't they, parents are, right?. I think that we haven't heard a lot of off colors in yorkies because breeders didn't want to let people know that they would have "weird" babies, so I'm sure that some just culled them out of the litter Years ago, that's what they did with white Boxer pups, but now people are a little bit more flexible, and they give these babies the same love they give their "regular" yorkies...
