| My baby Well I did not get to take Rosie to the Vet yet but I believe she is not pregnant. I say this only because her eating habits have not changed and she is still the same in every way. She has only gained 8oz. which is not much. I do not know how much a Yorkie gaines if she is pregnant but I do not think that is enouph weight for a pregnant Yorkie. I do not feel anything moving in her stomache area. She is kind of chunky but I guess I will have to wait till the 16th of July and see what happens. Wish me luck everyone. I really hope that she is not pregnant. |

| If her little boobs start swelling, you won't have to guess anymore.

| I wouldn't assume that she isn't pregnant, she may have just one puppy and they don't show very much in that case. If her teets have swollen at all, she is pregnant (or a false pregnancy). If she stood for the male, she was ready. You are wiser to assume that she is expecting in a couple of days and spend as much time as possible educating yourself on what to do before, during, and after. Also, what signs to look for that may mean BIG trouble...such as a dark or green discharge. You will need to know quite a bit since this is her first litter and she may not be a natural. If she isn't, you have to jump in and do various things and get the Natural flow of things started. Keep checking on her constantly once her time is close, chances are she will not cry out (most don't). Again, for the sake of Rosie, and a potential unborn pup, assume that she is pregnant and read, read, read. So very much info. is available online. Good luck! |

| Some females wont even start showing until the last few weeks. It is likely that if she is pregnant she is having a small litter1-2. It is hard to know though. It will have to be a waiting game, unless you get to take her in.

| my baby Rosie is 2yrs old and her nipples use to be flat now they are pointy and swollen around the area but it is like a line straight up & down if you know what I mean. I really do not know how to explain it. She now weighs 8.6 lbs. she was weighing 8lbs before she was accidentally hooked. I am really scared now. I need to know what do I do if it is a false pregnancy, do I take her to the vet? She acts normal there are no changes in her at all except that she really does not eat much of her dog food. She rather eat table food. Is it possible that a yorkie won't act any different if she is pregnant? I will be back soon to see any postings please anyone help! |

| If it is false you do nothing. Sometimes the body will go through the phases of a pregnancy, but there are no puppies....huge chance this is not the case. You are probably going to have a puppy or pups very shortly. Tiah (my Yorkie) doesn't act differently during pregnancy, except that maybe she is even MORE loving. They usually behave pretty normally, no huge change in behavior or eating because they are pregnant. Have you been reading up on what to do? Is it possible to get her exrayed to find out for sure? Have you been reading up on what to do in different case scenarios? She is old enough and big enough, so don't panic about that part of it. |

| my baby Let's say Rosie does have one pup I know I did not plan this pregnancy but who keeps the pup me or the owner of the stud? The lady was saying she wants a pup and I also would like to keep her first baby. What are the rules in the breeding community? |

| I don't know about the rules and ethics in your state, but here, the owner of the mother keeps it if there is only one. Also, you two didn't agree and sign a contract. Didn't you say you were at a friends house when this happened? If the puppy is a nice size and healthy, and the mother delivers without complication, you may want to talk to your friend and sign an agreeable contract for the next breeding. I think I recall you saying he was taller than your female but thinner....so that may not be advisable. If your girl is 8lbs she would need to breed with a smaller male. Try to work out a stud fee that is agreeable; most people pay a stud fee and not "pick of the litter". A stud fee is usually less than the price of a puppy. It would be advisable to be fair. |

| Typically if the female only has one pup the owner of the stud would get a fee instead of a pick of the litter. Did she want pick of the litter? Stud fees can very greatly depending on the lineage of the stud and if he is a proven stud. It is trully up to you if you give the pup to them. Let us know.

| I want to agree with julie, you are talking about the possibility of having babies even as early as tomorrow, I believe. Mine whelped on day 59 from first tie. I would be on stand-by for the next 7 days - do not leave her alone, make her a box. You don't want to take a chance on something happening to YOUR baby. That was my biggest fear with Zowie. Everything was fine and she has done a wonderful job being a mommy, but that is not always the case. I wouldn't worry about the stud fee right now. If you have one or two puppies and they make it 12 weeks - you have plenty of time to discuss that with her, and us Good luck and keep up posted.

| birth, maybe Is an xray an option for you? It would stop the guessing? If there is one pup, fair breeders allow the stud client to pay the stud fee and keep the pup. |

| I am a bit confused you have started many threads concerned about an accidental pregnancy...Many advised several times GET AN XRAY, dont guess! Now youre asking about a stud fee...this doesnt seem like an accidental breeding IMHO! Most breeders wouldnt think about charging a stud fee let alone a pup because of an accidental breeding!! They know nothing about the bitch, most would be more concerned about their stud, Youre making no sense!!! How did you just happen to be around a Yorkie stud at the right time if this was an accidental breeding?? if this was really an accident sobeit...get her to the vet to know for sure! If it wasnt get informed and get prepared!!!!STUD fees are based on a successful breeding meaning yielding more than one pup, if only one pup is born usually stud fee is free next breeding.
