| Hi, First Time Yorkie Owner HI all, have been reading the messages and find them very informative. Thanks. I have 2 new Yorkies, Max and Ezzie; they are 12 weeks old and full of life! Super affectionate already, and imprinted on me, within a week. SO, i have experience with golden retreievers, this is a very diff. breed, thus, i appreciate the info on this site. I am kinda chilling and trying to enjoy the pups, started crating when I am not home, am doing the puppy pad thing, with goldens it was sooo diff. And my babies are sleeping in my bed at night. They are very happy, as long as I am in the same room. I guess this is normal for the breed. So, to create a secure transition I am using puppy centered training, right now. I am a teacher, so I have the entire summer, to bond and train them. Comments? |

| Welcome to YT!! I also got two Yorkies a week apart and also have a Beagle and 2 cats. I was having a little difficulty at first because of my Yorkies age differences Jack is 10 weeks and Mandy is 5 1/2 months so their needs were a bit different but its so fun watching thenm play and snuggle together. Even though its double the work I think it will be worth it in the end Mandy and Jacks mom |
