| Bentlie and potty training saga OMGoodness! I had forgotton how hard it was to potty train! Actually Cosmo was pretty easy and I praise Cosmo everyday esp. since his younger brother, Bentlie, just does not GET IT! In Bentlie's defense, with Cosmo we got him late May and I was off the 2nd week in June for summer vacation which meant tons and tons of one on one time with me. Bentlie is on his own with my husband, who tries his best but is not consistent. I did the whole every 30 minutes outside, and if he doesn't go then he is put in the kennel for 15-20 minutes and we try again. When he does finally go he gets to play etc. and then we repeat the process. (Which I do on nights/weekends with Bentlie) My husband puts him outside, then sits down, then lets Bentlie in and when he pees on the floor he doesn't understand why WELL DUH! I tell my husband did you make sure he went before you let him in, did you tell him go potty, you all know the drill of commands..to which he replys no. We read the training guide together, we have done this before, and this little puppy is much more stubborn and difficult which also means it will take add'l time. I just pray to the "pee gods" that by the time he is 11 months he too will be potty trained...at the rate he and "we" are going I doubt it If it takes me being home he will already be 8 months and then it will be like making ice out of fire! ha ha I guess my question is how did you get your husband to be on board with the potty training and any suggestions for me? I feel like giving my DH a treat when he does a good job, a treat for Bentlie and a treat for him...I don't think that would go over very well ha ha
