| Raising the ears My little Bentley still has his floppy ears. We ran into a girl that is only 1 month older than him in PetSmart and she has her ears raised. I have been told to put cotton balls and tape them and also how to trim them so they wont be so heavy. My only concern is that I like the floppy puppy ears. But I am not sure if I will like them when he is older and his color changes. Has anyone seen an adult yorkie with floppy ears? Any pictures? |

| I was going to tape Zoe's ears but she looks so cute floppy. My main concern was that she was able to raise and move them so the breeder taped them for a few days and now she can lift them and manoever them she just can't raise the tips but it's so cute so I think I'll just let nature take its course. My breeder recommended using a tampon cut in half, then she used this rubbery bandage material that sort of stuck to itself rolled around the ear/tampon. Just make sure that she doesn't get them out and eat them! Her little brother took hers out and ate it apparently and the breeder's hubby had to rush him to the vet and he had to have surgery Poor lil' guy... D- PS> Zoe is 4.5 months if that helps...

| My dogs dad has floppy ears and I don't mind how they look so I told the breeder when I picked out my puppy not to worry about taping her ears as it really didn't matter to me if they stood up or not. The odd thing is that when I picked her up to bring her home her ears were floppy but within one day of getting her second set of shots they stood straight up and have been like that ever since. |

| Milo's ears went up at about 4 months, but after his neutering we had to use a cone, and they went down again. I don't mind at all - and my mum thinks he looks more handsome with floppy ears. |

| We tried to get Jeanie's ears up, and it seemed important to be the "standard" yorkie....but now I love her for her special look. She is a little different, and so cute.....and there is a "prettiness" about the long ears. The hair can grow to a nice length, and they look just precious.....so I'm now all for leaving the ears. Had hers have stood up, I wouldn't think she was any better...that's for sure. They are all cute - big small - perky floppy - I love them all! |

| I've posted a few times about Madeleine's ears never standing up. We always liked the look of the floppy ears so we didn't tape them. She is 8 months old now and I just can't picture her with perky ears!
