so I know that most people are against feeding Greenies to Yorkies.....I have 2 questions.

1) Has anyone tries the new greenies that they claim are easy to digest and softer than he old ones.

2) How many people here actually feed Greenies??

I know that Chewy loved them when she was little so just curious what you guys think.

I don't give them anymore. A vet in GA has said that the new Greenies are softer but still get stuck. They have had to remove three of the new ones in that one clinic.

All chews carry a risk but Greenies seem to be too dangerous.

I used to feed the old greenies..luckily had no problems. I always bought them at the dog boutique I worked at but we stopped selling them so I stopped giving them. The main problem I have with greenies is that they aren't very good for chewing on...they seem to be more like a treat..doesn't take long to chew them up. I like something longer-lasting like a bully stick

Anyone else currently feeding greenies??

I ordered a million bully sticks when Kathryn was selling it and after a year of eating them religiously...my monkey decides she doesnt like them anymore!!!!
So im looking for an alternative.

I do not feed greenies. Fritzel like Mighty Bones and they are easy to digest.

I googled mighty dog and cant seem to find them....what are they? What are they made of and do you order them online? I dont think ive seen them in my pet stores...

I don't give my Roxy any Greenies or Rawhide or anything like it... Roxy had so many problems with her bowels and throwing up when I would give her just a little bit... Her Foster Mom (breeder) used to give her Rawhides... and they always knotted up her belly and she ALWAYS had a growling belly. I took them off of her, and now she just gets regular stuff... (Eukanuba, Natural Balance, Canine Carry Outs, Cesar, beef, chicken... ) and she hasn't had any "belly growling" problems ever since... Plus, she only throws up or gets diarrhea very rarely.... (only when I tried changing her diet) But, NO GREENIES!!!
Oh, she gets those Breath Bones too once in awhile... those are good

i have gotten greenies for my other dogs (not lacey she has mvd) and the softer ones they bite off to big of chunks and choke so no more of those in this house.

Same here... They seem to be eaten up less than 5 minutes.

I'm hearing mixed opinions on it. I still give them to mine only once in a while. I still have a bag of it. I noticed that they're not that easily digested. I'm thinking of not giving them it completely.

I've never seen any remains in any of my dogs poop..and they're all housebroken on pee pads, so, I see a lot of poop everyday..almost anything they chew on for their teeth can be dangerous, bully sticks even have been known to get lodged in their throats..just like hot dogs are dangerous for kids, but, most parents continue to give hot dogs..Like I said, everyone has their own opinon on them, but, I see the difference they've made in my dogs teeth, I never brush my dogs teeth, and the yorkie going on 5(well, the vet was quite impressed with her teeth for being a yorkie), so, to me it's worth one or two a week...but, that's something every pet owner has to decide on their own..

Here is the site. They are still getting stuck. Greenies have killed plenty of dogs and cost owners lots of money in emergency surgery. I used to give Ellie Greenies occasionally and she still got peridontal disease (pretty severe) so they didn't do any good for us. I don't give her any chews now since she is older. She doesn't need them. I brush her teeth though. The only thing I would consider are bully sticks and the thought grosses me out and they are way too high in protein for Ellie's liver.

Educate yourself and buy from reputable breeders or rescue.
